Report concerning Shovgu

[edit]

Shovgu does not seem to understand the difference between "mother/native language" vs "official language" as seen here [1] [2].

This is just one issue, I could also get into the fact that they ignore (whether on purpose or due to language barrier) sources/information that contradicts their opinion [3], hopefully that is not going to be necessary. HistoryofIran (talk) 22:12, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

You are not stopping the edit war. What do you hope to achieve by reverting my edit that linked Wikipedia to Wikidata? https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q161205&diff=prev&oldid=2527289359 Shovgu (talk) 22:18, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

And now they're edit warring again, at Afsharid dynasty [4], completely ignoring what the English article of the Wikidata says ("was an Iranian[1] dynasty founded by Nader Shah (r. 1736–1747) of the Qirqlu clan of the Turkoman Afshar tribe, ruling over Afsharid Iran.[1][2]") and the dozens of sources I listed at their talk page.[1] --HistoryofIran (talk) 22:27, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

I am not discussing whether the Afshars were an Iranian dynasty. I am discussing the language of the dynasty. What are you talking about? Shovgu (talk) 22:31, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yes, we can all see that. Your addition is roughly translated to "A Turkic dynasty that ruled in Azerbaijan and Iran in the 18th century", which contradicts what sources and the article itself says. Azerbaijan didn't exist back then either [5] [6] [7], as you were also told, but ignore as well. Which is as I said, you ignore sources/information that contradicts your opinion. HistoryofIran (talk) 22:34, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
As I have explained to you, you are bringing up unrelated topics. "Azerbaijan" is a historical geographical name, and the people we call Azerbaijanis today are one of the Turkic peoples. You are presenting me with sources that contradict claims I never made. Shovgu (talk) 22:44, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I say "the Turkic dynasty that ruled Iran"—do you understand? Shovgu (talk) 22:46, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
This is hopeless... the language barrier is too big of an issue, as also seen on their talk page. Can an admin please help? HistoryofIran (talk) 22:47, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Besides you proving that you still don't understand the difference between "native language" and "official language", it seems you don't understand what "dynasty" means either. Speaking x language does not make you x dynasty, as seen in the listed sources. Matter of the fact is you're ignoring sources/information that you don't like. Also, your citations has no quotes and some has dozens of pages or no pages, no one wants to go on a treasure hunt to find the quotes for you, which I doubt you even have yourself. HistoryofIran (talk) 22:46, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I have moved the Turkic language from the "official language" section to the "native language" section. It will remain this way until the discussion concludes. I maintain the position that Turkic was also the official language of the dynasty. I believe Turkic should be included in both sections because it was the language of the Turkic dynasty—rather than the state itself—and was used within the court and the dynasty. Shovgu (talk) 22:56, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
You still refuse to learn what "official language" means, conflating it with other words despite being told about it a dozens of times now, and having had hours to look it up on a simple Google search. You're still engaging in synthesis of published material, i.e. WP:SYNTH. But thanks for removing it from "official language", still, that doesn't fix the issues of your conduct, including at the Afsharid dynasty. HistoryofIran (talk) 23:03, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
You are biased. Put aside your own views. Do not hesitate to accept the truth. I am aware of the distinction between a native language and an official language. Given that it was a Turkic dynasty, we agree that their native language was Turkic. However, despite numerous official sources, you refuse to acknowledge that Turkic was also the dynasty's official language, and instead, you present me with sources irrelevant to the topic. Turkic was the dynasty's official language because it was used within the palace, among dynasty members, and in official correspondence—not to mention its use in diplomacy and the military. Persian may have been the state's official language—serving as the international language of that era—but that is irrelevant to our discussion; for instance, the Seljuk Empire was a Turkic empire, yet the state's official language was Persian. You do not want to accept this. Shovgu (talk) 23:28, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
There are zero reliable sources that mention it being an official language, including in the English Wikipedia of the very subject. Even when you listed the alleged sources here you said it was about "native language of the dynasties". The only one biased is you, as you refuse to listen to reliable sources and only listen to your personal opinion and WP:SYNTH. There are clearly severe WP:CIR issues here. HistoryofIran (talk) 23:38, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Let us continue the discussion once you learn to distinguish between the state and the dynasty. A dynasty is not a state for which a document is signed and an official language is designated; rather, a dynasty uses the Turkic language while governing the state. Consider this aspect: "the language of the dynasty." This is documented everywhere, including on the English Wikipedia. If Turkic were merely the dynasty's native tongue—and if the dynasty did not employ it in state administration, internal court affairs, and official correspondence—then it would suffice to regard Turkic simply as their mother tongue. However, that is not the case. Shovgu (talk) 23:48, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Again, still failing to understand what official language means and making up stuff as you go, i.e. WP:SYNTH. No point in discussing indeed, hopefully an admin will take a look at your conduct. HistoryofIran (talk) 23:59, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
A dynasty's official language is not established by a document. Learn to distinguish between the state and the dynasty. I hope the admins will look into this soon. Shovgu (talk) 00:04, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Whether state or dynasty, "official language" still has one meaning. You are the one who should learn. There is a reason WP:RS has not supported you once, and contradicts you in the dozens. HistoryofIran (talk) 00:06, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
You have no grounds to invoke the WP:RS policy here. There is no such thing as an "official language of a dynasty," as it is not an institution; what we are referring to is the language they actually used. Either you do not understand this, or it simply does not suit your agenda. Shovgu (talk) 00:17, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
If we are referring to the language they spoke, but which wasn't an official language under them, then we don't add it as an "official language", it's that simple really, and I think a part of you know this, which is why you removed it from "official languages" after this report. But I'm done trying to put sense into you after these several hours, I'll let the admins take it from here. HistoryofIran (talk) 00:22, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I don't know who you are referring to when you say "a part of you." I am just a human being. What do you mean when you say "a part of you knows this"? What is it that they know? If you are trying to emphasize that the Turkic language isn't being used, then you are simply engaging in a war of words. Because you are still too biased to admit that the language of the ruling dynasty and the language of the state are distinct. I had intended to keep the situation as it was until the discussion concluded, but I changed my mind. Shovgu (talk) 01:10, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I had intended to keep the situation as it was until the discussion concluded, but I changed my mind
You did indeed [8]. So in other words, you doubled down on your disruptive conduct. It was also only two months ago that you got blocked for edit warring. HistoryofIran (talk) 01:41, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Shovgu is now engaging in more pov pushing by adding "Azerbaijani" as this figures native language [9], despite them not even speaking that language nor even being of Azerbaijani descent (they were Kipchaks per the sourced English Wikipedia article [10]). --HistoryofIran (talk) 13:55, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

You have also seen the edit where I included the Persian language.1 You are simply highlighting what suits your own agenda. Did you start looking for errors in my edits only after your complaint failed to yield results? Shovgu (talk) 14:08, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
You have also seen the edit where I included the Persian language
Which I also removed. It seems you don't know what "native language" means either (hell, they he didn't even speak Azerbaiajani, let alone it being his native language). And regardless, it doesn't justify adding "Azerbaijani" (which you're now edit warring to restore, even more disruptive).
You are simply highlighting what suits your own agenda.
Ironic. HistoryofIran (talk) 14:09, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Aha, if you acknowledge that his native language is Azerbaijani—and not Persian—then why are you trying to erase the Azerbaijani language? Shovgu (talk) 14:11, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I didn't even remotely say that. Again proving the huge language barrier is too big of an issue. Also, you're still edit warring, clearly not here to build an encyclopedia. HistoryofIran (talk) 14:13, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
You have just exposed your lie: "You have also seen the edit where I included the Persian language.
Which I also removed. It seems you don't know what "native language" means either" Shovgu (talk) 14:17, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Sigh... HistoryofIran (talk) 14:17, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I have fully protected the item to prevent further edit warring.
@Shovgu, HistoryofIran: You are both warned not to edit war and not to use edit summaries to attack other editors. Please take a step back and discuss the underlying content issue in a collaborative way. Assume good faith. Cut out the insults and personal attacks. Bring in third parties. WD:Project chat is a better venue to get third-party input on content issues. Bovlb (talk) 14:34, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
But that's the thing, it's not a dispute. Per this thread, Shovgu is adding information not supported by their sourced English articles nor reliable sources, the most blatant one being adding "Azerbaijani" here [11], not only as a language, but a native language a that (which contradicts [12], this is like if I added "Azerbaijani" to Napoleon). They refuse to understand what "official language" and "native language" means. For all of these things they have had days to prove otherwise, but to no avail. Also, if the article gets protected, shouldn't it also get reverted back to its previous revision? Why should Shovgu get to force his way through edit warring, whereas I stopped? HistoryofIran (talk) 14:38, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I have already answered that. Stop repeating yourself; you're leading the discussion into a dead end. Shovgu (talk) 14:43, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Not at all. HistoryofIran (talk) 14:45, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Protection does not endorse the version that happened to be current when I protected the item. See m:The Wrong Version. I am not going to adjudicate the underlying content issue by choosing which version to protect.
Calling this a content dispute also does not mean that I consider the two positions equally well supported. Please resolve the content question through discussion, preferably with input from uninvolved editors. Bovlb (talk) 14:47, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I have requested input from Wikidata:Project chat [13], though despite that I find it hard how to see how it is going to suddenly change the conduct of Shovgu. HistoryofIran (talk) 14:59, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Bovlb: Unfortunately it has now been archived. What now? HistoryofIran (talk) 23:07, 16 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Would appreciate an admin looking into this, these are pretty glaring disruptive edits, which Shovgu has somehow gotten away with by edit warring, despite recently being blocked for that. This does not send a good message. HistoryofIran (talk) 14:00, 20 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Would really appreciate an admin looking into this. --HistoryofIran (talk) 03:32, 28 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

More pov pushing by Shovgu.. [14], this is straight up false [15]. In the English Wikipedia WP:GSAA is made for exactly these type of users. HistoryofIran (talk) 20:29, 1 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
It is ridiculous for you to be monitoring me throughout the day :) I see no error in my edit; I simply added information that is already on Wikipedia—feel free to make additions yourself. . D Shovgu (talk) 21:24, 1 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
It is ridiculous that you engage in historical falsifications. Clearly not per the diff I linked. HistoryofIran (talk) 01:55, 2 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure why this has been getting ignored for almost two months. Shovgu is engaging in blatant pov pushing, disregarding what sourced information actually says and even English grammar. Is it simply the one who edit wars the most that is right? HistoryofIran (talk) 02:35, 21 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Last bump. I have been patient and tried (contrary to Shovgu) to follow the guidelines, so much for that. After this gets auto-archived, I'll revert all their disruptive edits. HistoryofIran (talk) 21:24, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request for undeletion: Q141526349 (The King of Trash)

[edit]
  • Q141526349 (The King of Trash, 2026 American documentary film)

Conflict of interest: I edit on behalf of California Waste Solutions (paid contribution, disclosed on my user page) and am credited as a creative advisor on this film. I created the item. I am asking for review by uninvolved editors and will accept the outcome.

The item was deleted on 28 September 2026 in the ten-item request at Wikidata:Requests for deletions/Archive/2026/09/28#Bulk deletion request. It was not part of my earlier request, Wikidata:Administrators' noticeboard#Request for undeletion: Q141497453 and Q141502859, after which @Ziv restored the items for the company and for David Duong (David Duong (Q141502859)), the film's subject. The family-member statements Ziv asked to be removed have since been removed.

I believe the film meets N2:

If restored, I will not edit it further myself. Henryvot1 (talk) 01:36, 1 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Henryvot1.
Please excuse the delayed reply; I did receive the ping, but then forgot to respond. The documentary's significance eludes me, but I'd welcome further links or opinions. Best regards, זיו「Ziv」 • For love letters and other notes 09:06, 3 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, @Ziv. The independent coverage of the film itself is the two Bay Area news pieces already listed (San José Spotlight and the Bay City News / Local News Matters story), plus the Distractify article and a feature in The Hype Magazine (2 January 2026): https://www.thehypemagazine.com/2026/01/02/david-duongs-the-king-of-trash-and-the-power-of-immigrant-resilience/ . The film is new (released 2026), so I don't have festival or review coverage to add yet, and I don't want to pad the request with press releases. The structural reason is that it is the documentary about David Duong (Q141502859), which you restored, and it is directed by Errol Webber (Q101438086). If you or other editors judge that is not enough at this point, I accept that and won't recreate the item. Henryvot1 (talk) 01:43, 8 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, @Borhan.
I apologize for any mistakes or inaccuracies in my recent Bengali label and description additions. I have stopped making edits in Bengali for now.
Could you please point out a few specific examples where the labels or descriptions were incorrect? I want to understand where I went wrong. I am completely willing to self-revert or fix any problematic edits, and I will be much more careful with Bengali contributions moving forward. SHADOWARROW 2026 (talk) 00:43, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Borhan
Let us look at the reality of open-data architecture:
India is a massive country with hundreds of thousands of schools, higher education institutions, railway stations, and intricate administrative divisions. Curating, structuring, and systematically ingesting this extensive regional public infrastructure into Wikidata is a serious, high-volume undertaking—it is not child's play, nor does genuine data appear out of thin air.
Building high-coverage datasets across multiple regional scripts operates in structured weekly rollout phases. Labels and localized multilingual schemas are systematically populated in queued batches. I do not hold dedicated bot flags or special administrative batch-ingestion rights on Wikidata to deploy massive multilingual label matrices instantaneously in a single second. Complex regional pipelines require time to populate and standardize.
To look at genuine, high-value Indian infrastructure entries and immediately run to the Administrators' noticeboard demanding a blanket mass-revert over an in-progress label phase is frankly absurd. Missing labels in an ongoing data rollout are routine schema adjustments, not vandalism. Having a rollback button does not mean every constructive data contribution is a nail to be smashed. Constructive editors leave a collaborative note; they do not launch performative noticeboard panics.
I have already begun reviewing and standardizing these entities, adding missing Bengali labels and ensuring concise descriptions. The remaining items are being refined systematically in structured batches. The data is genuine, valuable, and being actively enriched. SHADOWARROW 2026 (talk) 12:50, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
@SHADOWARROW 2026 pinging the user @Borhan SHADOWARROW 2026 (talk) 13:15, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
@SHADOWARROW 2026 To clarify, my report is not about "adding missing Bengali labels, the pace of the rollout, or the use of batch edits". My concern is specifically the accuracy of the Bengali labels/descriptions that have already been added.
For example, I reverted this, this, and this, where the Bengali labels should be গঙ্গি নদী, ন্যামজং ছু, and জিরি নদী, respectively. These are not merely incomplete or non-standardized labels; they contain incorrect or unnatural Bengali forms.
Since you asked for specific examples, I can provide additional affected items and diffs. I would encourage you to reviewing the contributions involving Bengali labels/descriptions, and correcting or reverting entries where the forms are demonstrably inaccurate.
My concern is the quality of the Bengali data currently present on Wikidata, rather than the broader data-import project. Borhan (talk) 15:09, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Borhan Thank you for providing the specific examples.
Yes, earlier there were indeed some phonetic transliteration issues in the automated pipeline that resulted in unnatural spellings in those specific items. I have acknowledged this and am actively reviewing my contributions.
The current entries have been verified and corrected to ensure accurate, natural Bengali spelling and terminology, and I will be manually vetting all upcoming regional additions so that unnatural forms do not slip through.
For instance, across recent infrastructure entities:
  • Q141576229 (Bokadvira) has been updated with the verified Bengali label বোকাধভিরা and standardized description.
  • Q4838070 (Babubarhi Vidhan Sabha constituency) has been verified with accurate Bengali label বাবুবারহী বিধানসভা কেন্দ্র and appropriate constituency description.
  • Q120962152 (Nagla Madari) has been checked with Bengali label নাগলা মাদারি and standard village description.
I am systematically auditing the remaining entries to ensure full linguistic compliance. Thank you for the helpful clarification. SHADOWARROW 2026 (talk) 15:27, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
In light of the edits not getting any better in the last few days (with some egregious examples given on the user's talk page), I have blocked the user from editing the main namespace indefinitely and requested on Wikidata:Bot requests the reversion of their edits. Bonjour,

Q130604188: request for uninvolved review of archived September undeletion discussion

[edit]

For transparency, I am the subject of the deleted item and therefore have a conflict of interest.

Could an uninvolved administrator please review my September undeletion request for Q130604188 and indicate whether the evidence presented there warrants restoration or whether the request should be declined?

The relevant discussions are:

The September request concerned a newly available biographical entry in the National Library of Georgia's Biographical Dictionary and a structural-need argument. On 6 September, Yamato Shiya explained their objections but also explicitly invited uninvolved administrators and experienced editors to assess the evidence, noting that they could restore the item if they considered it sufficient.

I am not presenting additional evidence in this follow-up or repeating the substantive arguments. I am asking whether someone uninvolved can assess the September submissions and the objections together.

@Yamato Shiya, Addshore: I am notifying you because of your previous involvement in the item's deletion/restoration history.

@Bovlb, Epìdosis: Given your work on undeletion/source assessment and bibliographic identifiers respectively, would you be willing to review the archived discussion, if you consider yourselves uninvolved? Review by another uninvolved administrator would also be welcome.

For background, see the deletion discussion closed on 1 May 2026 and the July 2026 undeletion discussion. I recognise that the existing deletion decision remains in effect unless it is overturned.

I understand the concern about repeated requests. A brief explicit outcome, with the main reason, would be appreciated. I will accept a decline and will not reopen the request on the same evidence.

Thank you. David Osipov (talk) 16:02, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

As a premise, as of now which IDs are sufficient to establish if an item is more or less automatically notable or not is still a very open question (cf. RfC). That said, I have checked the deleted version of the item and IMHO the IDs it contained to not imply notability, including ORCID (which is self-assigned), ISNI (which can be requested), VIAF (just based on ISNI); I would be in favor of restoring if an authority record (e.g. Library of Congress Authorities ID (P244), GND ID (P227), IdRef ID (P269)) is created in the future, or of course if the notability policy changes establishing that one of the IDs present in the deleted version of the item implies notability. Epìdosis 16:36, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. The first priority evidence for restoration is a new inclusion into National Library of Georgia (Property:P4991): http://www.nplg.gov.ge/bios/ka/00026767/ , which implies notability. David Osipov (talk) 17:06, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Comment I am confused by the request "Could an uninvolved administrator please review". Am I permitted to state my opinion here? Based on my understanding, uninvolvement is required for the administrator who closes the discussion, not for community members providing context. Either way, due to my previous involvement in the item's history ("because of your previous involvement in the item's deletion/restoration history"), I just want to add some additional context, not to close the discussion.
Property:P4991 has instance of (P31) with value of Wikidata property for an identifier that suggests notability (Q62589316); it suggests, not implies as the requester stated. Furthermore, from reading the record in NPLG (using machine translation), it seems to reuse self-reported information available on the requester's user page (works on Wikimedia projects, OpenStreetMap, cybersecurity projects, Wikimedia Xtools statistics etc.). The requester claims that the NPLG entry constitutes "new evidence", but upon inspection, most of that content simply reflects information already present on Wikidata and Wikimedia platforms. From my perspective, this creates a circular loop where external records echo self-reported activity (or contents on Wikimedia platform), which is then cited back to Wikidata as independent evidence.
While this might seem minor, we should expect a record of notable works that are indexed organically (that is, work that appears in domain-specific external databases first, then works its way through NPLG, Library of Congress, and VIAF). Otherwise, we are merely mirroring every entry in an external database, and to the best of my knowledge, Wikidata does not aim to indiscriminately mirror every external catalog entry.
I am welcome for corrections and opinion from other admins and experienced contributors. Thank you.Yamato Shiya • (Hello!) 00:14, 4 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Yamato Shiya: Of course you can comment — that's why I pinged you. I meant the administrator closing the discussion, not everyone taking part.
I think the important distinction here is between the sources used for biographical details and inclusion in a national-library biographical dictionary. This is a dedicated biography in the Biographical Dictionary of Georgia, not just another identifier or personal profile. The National Library itself describes the dictionary as covering prominent Georgians.
There is also a 2017 account of how the dictionary works by National Library librarian Ia Gorgisheli. She explains that submitted biographical drafts are checked by the library's electronic-resources department and published only afterwards.
I understand that citing my website does not make every detail independently verified. But that does not make inclusion in this reference work equivalent to a self-created profile either. The institutional review and publication are precisely why I consider the biography significant new evidence.
I am asking that this particular biographical source be assessed under WD:N, taking account of the nature of the dictionary, rather than only the sources listed at the bottom of the entry. --David Osipov (talk) 03:10, 4 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
This item has been proposed for undeletion repeatedly since the RfD. While new evidence may justify reconsideration, none of the subsequent requests has produced a consensus to undelete. Such repeated requests are disruptive, especially when there is an element of self-promotion. I think this should be the last undeletion request for this item initiated by David. Bovlb (talk) 14:49, 4 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Bovlb: I've made around 47,000 edits to Wikidata and put a substantial amount of my own time into this project. I'm part of this community, and I expect a straightforward answer to a straightforward request. My contributions do not entitle me to an item about myself. But asking for a clear outcome is not asking for special treatment.
The September request was automatically archived without a closing decision. The follow-up was also archived without a reply. Yamato had explicitly invited other editors to assess the evidence. That is why I brought the matter back here.
I have read the objections. What remains unclear is whether this request has been decided, and what that decision is.
To keep the evidence in one place:
  • National Library of Georgia biography: David Osipov, record 00026767. This is a dedicated article with a biography and bibliography in the Biographical Dictionary of Georgia, not just an identifier or a registered account. The library describes the dictionary as covering prominent Georgians. A 2017 account of its working process describes library staff checking submitted biographies before publication. I acknowledge the objections about the entry citing my website and ORCID. My argument concerns the weight of inclusion in the dictionary itself. This was the principal new evidence in September. P4991 is also classified as an identifier that suggests notability.
  • Official research attribution: the CVE record supplied by Cloudflare credits me as the independent researcher. That attribution comes from outside my own profiles and Wikimedia.
  • Media coverage: Paper Kartuli's article of 25 July 2025 includes a dedicated section and interview about my OpenStreetMap work in Georgia.
  • Structural use: Q140402353 represents that CVE. The proposed relationship is Q140402353 → discoverer or inventor → Q130604188, supported by the external attribution above. This is the specific use I raised under WD:N criterion 3.
  • Commons and Wiktionary context: the September request documented use of the deleted QID in Structured Data on Commons and reuse of this Commons file in Russian Wiktionary. This is supplementary reuse context, not my main argument for notability.
  • Identity records: ORCID, ISNI and VIAF. I have read the objections to these identifiers and am not presenting them as sufficient on their own.
Please give an explicit outcome for the request: restore or do not restore, with the main reason. If the outcome is no consensus to restore, please state that clearly and close the request accordingly.
If your 4 October comment was intended as the closing decision, please confirm that. Otherwise, I am asking an uninvolved administrator to close this discussion.
I can accept a refusal. I am not satisfied with being told to stop asking while it remains unclear whether the current request is closed. I will respect an explicit outcome and will not reopen the request on the same evidence. David Osipov (talk) 11:14, 6 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
I am not a fan of users creating items about themselves (and I do not touch my own item), but I think inclusion to a national biographic dictionary is sufficient for notability for Wikidata. Ymblanter (talk) 18:09, 6 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

chateaupedia.com spam

[edit]

Hello.

I don't really know if it is the right place to ask, as I'm not familiar with Wikidata's procedures.

We noticed on frwiki that links to chateaupedia.com were added to articles without a real need, and that this website cannot be considered as a reliable source as it takes information from Wikidata, castle owners, etc.

Crashedfox (talk • contribs • logs) inserted it in 6 articles on frwiki over several days, but 226 times here, in one go, from 5:02 to 5:48 UTC on 26 September 2026.

He later revealed that he is the owner of this site when asked to declare his conflicts of interest and on frwiki's fr:Discussion Wikipédia:Observatoire des sources (= en:Wikipedia talk:Reliable sources/Perennial sources, cf. his response).

These links should be removed, the site blacklisted if possible, and Crashedfox should probably be blocked, as he added hundreds of links probably because his clients asked him for it, or he made them pay for it.

Best regards, Şÿℵדαχ₮ɘɼɾ๏ʁ 17:30, 2 October 2026 (UTC)

There are two separable questions here:
I am the owner of chateaupedia.com and declared it on frwiki. No client asked for or paid for these statements; they were added by my own script, which is now stopped, and I will not add more. The project is new and has no paying customer yet. Its listings (opening hours, prices, visiting conditions, events) are checked against official websites and corrected regularly by the castle owners themselves, town halls and tourist offices, with the source and date shown for each correction. I leave the decision on the existing P973 values to the community. Crashedfox (talk) 10:32, 3 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request for undeletion: Q139088054 (Back2Roots)

[edit]

Hello. I am the musician behind Back2Roots, so I have a conflict of interest, which I am declaring here.

Q139088054 (Back2Roots, French electronic music producer) was deleted on 17 May 2026 as not notable, at the same time as Q139806413, a record label item that went through RfD. I am not asking for the label item to be restored.

I believe the artist item meets criterion 2 of Wikidata:Notability: it is a clearly identifiable person, described by serious and publicly available sources:

If the item is restored, I will add a reference to every statement and keep it strictly factual. Thank you. Back2Roots23 (talk) 21:21, 3 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Identifiers like Discogs, MusicBrainz, and those artist pages are not independent sources; they can be created and edited by anyone, and thus are not strong indications of notability. I could not find any evidence of substantial coverage on this producer outside of unreliable sources. Also, please look over Wikidata:Guide to requests for undeletion, and make sure you read the "Self-promotion" section at the top. My inclination is to decline this request. —Hasley + 14:15, 4 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the explanation, I understand. I withdraw this request, and I will only come back if independent sources about my work exist. Back2Roots23 (talk) 19:07, 4 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Issue with user:Orijentolog

[edit]

I am finding myself embroiled in an edit war with Orijentolog (talk • contribs • logs), who seems virulently opposed to the idea that ‎meta category for (P14387) was proposed precisely to eliminate the use of category combines topics (P971) on items for metacategories. He has been repeatedly removing relevant constraint from both ‎meta category for (P14387) and category combines topics (P971). I'm aware that in theory I should probably post on Project chat, but the subset of users with interest in category items (much less metacategories) is so minuscule that it feels like it would be a waste of time for something that would still require admin intervention. I have been editing thousands of these pages to apply the new property and he has been the only user to revert even a single one, doing so steadfastly every time I "dare" to touch an item he had created or edited. Circeus (talk) 00:37, 4 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

I left my objections on the talk page, and I was not the only one who protested to the removal of category combines topics (P971), as well as replacing category contains (P4224). I did not see any consensus for such a solution. I explained what the practical problems are, as well as Circeus' widespread mistake of confusing architecture and structures. I have been also editing thousands of these pages, for many years. --Orijentolog (talk) 04:52, 4 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Arbitrary deletion of structural founder item Q141623772 (Rudra Parmar) by Admin Sjö

[edit]

Hello Administrators,

I am requesting an administrative review and restoration of item Q141623772 (Rudra Parmar), which was deleted by Admin Sjö under RfD citing notability.

This deletion breaks an existing, valid knowledge graph connection without proper review:

1. Structural Value: Rudra Parmar is the documented Founder and Chief Executive Officer of RudraX Technologies Studio (Q141581270). The company item is active, stable, and references this entity as its key executive. Under Wikidata structural criteria, items that complete critical claims (founder P112, CEO P169) for existing valid entities serve a clear knowledge-base purpose.

2. Verifiable Public Identity: The item was not an empty stub or promotional text. It was supported by external identifiers and persistent third-party records: - Crunchbase Person ID: rudra-parmar-0116 (https://www.crunchbase.com/person/rudra-parmar-0116) - LinkedIn Profile: rudra-parmar-ceo (https://www.linkedin.com/in/rudra-parmar-ceo) - F6S ID: rudra-parmar (https://www.f6s.com/rudra-parmar) - Official leadership registry under the studio domain

Wikidata is an open structured database designed to link real-world entities and their relationships, not a Wikipedia narrative encyclopedia. Deleting verified founder records attached to active organizations creates broken graph links.

I request a senior administrator to review the deletion log and restore Q141623772 so the entity graph for Q141581270 remains complete and accurate.

Thank you. Gamespro20 (talk) 09:31, 4 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

New jack swing vandal

[edit]

At the end of August, a vandal appeared who has been adding information about the genre "new jack swing" to modern artists everywhere, often replacing other correct statements as well. They also create articles that are probably about themselves and their singles – Ella Brownstone and Kid$tar – and sometimes add links to well-known artists: [16]. There were probably more than a hundred such edits in total, made from different accounts. The edits in August were made from ~5 accounts. The only thing left here is the list of items to be deleted: Wikidata:Requests for deletions/Archive/2026/08/27#Bulk deletion request: Kid$tar

So far, I have only found two in September:

The entire contribution history should be nuke, and, I suppose we should keep monitoring for new accounts making similar edits to modern pop/R&B artists and singles. Solidest (talk) 15:50, 4 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

I have blocked 20 temporary accounts today and a few days ago. Edits go back to July. Micea34 and Micea348 are involved as well. I've done quite some rollbacking. I'm afraid there is a lot still to be done. --Lymantria (talk) 07:12, 9 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

It meets the notability criteria as the person about which this page is mention is an author and researched he have published a book named as The Architecture of Cryptographic Hashes and the research paper as follows Rudra 512 Hashing Algorithm he also have an orcid of ORCID - 0009-0002-3388-9830 and the Github account Cryptological Cryptographer (talk) 12:02, 5 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello, thank you for the request. I am the deleting admin. The subject indeed has identifiers that could establish notability, however, upon closer look, the record itself does not establish any notability. For instance, ORCID record list limited scientific publication, with limited citation. Second, the book you mentioned have limited readership. Thank you. Edit filter 132 blocking a scholarly article item (COI disclosed)

[edit]

Hello. I am the author of a working paper deposited on Zenodo with a DataCite DOI (10.5281/zenodo.23160928, https://zenodo.org/records/23160928) and its companion dataset (10.5281/zenodo.23131351). I tried to create items for both and my new account is blocked by filter 132. To be transparent: I have a conflict of interest, as I wrote the paper and run SatoshiMacro, the site that publishes the data.

The paper item would carry only standard scholarly-article statements: instance of scholarly article and working paper, title, author name string, publication date, DOI, Zenodo ID, main subject Bitcoin, language, licence CC BY 4.0, publisher Zenodo and the record URL, each referenced to the Zenodo record. No promotional wording and no links beyond the Zenodo record.

Could an administrator either create the items, or let me know whether they are in scope? I am happy to leave it to the community's judgement. Thank you. SatoshiMacro (talk) 12:09, 5 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Undeletion request: Camille Gabarra (Q140363254) and vrai studio (Q140363281)

[edit]

Hello, my two undeletion requests of 23 September 2026 were archived without an answer (see Wikidata:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive/2026/09), so I am repeating them briefly in English. Disclosure: I am Camille Gabarra.

  • Q140363254 (Camille Gabarra, photographer and art director): credited as photographer by the Bibliothèque nationale de France for "Ma pâtisserie authentique" by Hugues Pouget (Éditions de La Martinière, 2022): https://catalogue.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/cb471431322 ; also credited as photographer for "Confiserie et pâtisserie" (Éditions de La Martinière, 2024). I believe this meets Wikidata:Notability criterion 2.
  • Q140363281 (vrai studio, branding studio founded by Camille Gabarra, Bordeaux and Paris): requested as a structural link for the item above (founder / employer), Wikidata:Notability criterion 3.

I will add these references to both items as soon as they are restored. Thank you for your help. @Lymantria: Camillegabarra (talk) 12:54, 5 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello, thank you for your message, I am the deleting admin of both item. Looking at the deleted record, I dont see that the subject is notable, major reference relied on self-created website. And the new evidence attached here does not enough to establish notability for inclusion. As for the studio item, I also do not find any notable reference for this item, the only source only from self-created website. On these grounds, I Declined to restore the item. However, I am open for second opinion from other admin or experienced user. Thank you. Yamato Shiya • (Hello!) 13:22, 5 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Report concerning User:Profesorul Blazat

[edit]

Profesorul Blazat 🔕 (talk • contribs • deleted contribs • logs • filter log • block user • block log • SUL (for IP: GUC)) — Reasons: After being blocked on the Romanian Wikipedia for three months, the user switched to Wikidata where he heavily edits Romanian labels/descriptions/aliases on mostly Romania-linked items. Because so much of Wikidata is integrated in the Romanian Wikipedia, he is in essence evading the block by still affecting rowiki. Purely on these grounds I think a block is warranted. Then, you can see on his talk page dozens of messages reporting his deficient use of technical/scientific terms. Every day I find something of his making to revert... especially since he's started using mass-edit tools like QS now. The reason for his block on rowiki was technically his personal attacks, but the underlying cause of his conflicts are still the clueless – yet insistent – use of terms in different areas (he had been blocked from renaming for a while before the full 3-month block). Gikü (talk) 15:51, 5 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

I have documented my blocks and related incidents on my Romanian Wikipedia talk page. I was permanently stripped of page-renaming rights on ro.wiki after a series of disputes over my page name translations such as "New York Stock Exchange" as "Bursa de Valori New York", following the romanian naming model such as "Bursa de Valori București". So Strainu reported and insisted on my permanent removal of page-renaming rights. The preferred wording was instead "Bursa de valori din New York". Another issue concerned the redirects for plural forms of objects and the nominative forms of countries with Giku (there was even a category for such redirects, but then he obtained a consensus to delete all of them) as Georgiei edit to the country Georgia was not needed. I was later blocked for three months following a dispute over the title of an article about a call girl. I created a page called "Fată de companie" rather than the preferred "Damă de companie". During the dispute, I referred to the administrator Strainu as "corrupt", which I acknowledge was a personal attack. However, the pattern of disputes should be considered rather than treating the block as evidence that I am generally a vandal.
The editor on my talk page, Turbojet, have been harassing me even on the Romanian Village Pump together with Accipiter and characterizing me and my contributions as incompetent, while many of the proposed "corrections" concern wording or interpretations. I find this particularly concerning when such conventions are then applied as though they were longstanding rules, despite encountered little or no discussion with the editors who are now reverting these edits. The current report also follows a dispute over the wording "deputat al Moldovei" versus "deputat în Parlamentul Republicii Moldova" for Q18390049. I used the former consistently with the existing modeling of Q17556530, "deputat al României". There was also a new convention proposed by Strainu concerning the inclusion of birth and death years in Romanian Wikidata descriptions. The convention appeared shortly after I had mass-translated descriptions of pornographic actor swhich included birth and death years. Profesorul Blazat (talk) 17:22, 5 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Just because these users have been mentioned I'll tag them: Strainu, Turbojet, Accipiter Gentilis Q.. (my2c – all highly experienced rowiki contributors that suddenly broke bad as per the reportee). Gikü (talk) 18:12, 5 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
My position on the user is summed up here: The fact that after 15 years, out of which 3 editing regularly, we still find dozens of errors is a huge warning sign.
I can understand that Wikidata admins might consider this as "another wiki's problem", but as Wikidata becomes more widely used, such poor edits will affect its credibility. Strainu (talk) 18:21, 5 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Translated text:
Your account is 15 years old, and you have been editing consistently for over three years. The fact that I still encounter non-existent terms or images unrelated to the article text—after dozens of warnings, messages, and reverts—is entirely due to your attitude. It is clear to all of us that you do not have native-level command of Romanian, but nothing prevents you from using the internet to do some research before cluttering Wikipedia.
Here is also an example for harassesment in absentia on the Village Pump about me as an example for what I mentioned earlier.
Looking back at your last 1000 edits, I noticed there hasn't been direct interaction with the pages I created. However, I did find the edits from December 2025 where images were removed:
Most of my edits tagged with the description "Imagine" primary serve as lead thumbnails for the articles and are mostly sourced from other projects. Why did you revert those edits listed above? Profesorul Blazat (talk) 16:03, 6 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the user “Professor Blazat”:

  • He frequently alters (or, more accurately, corrupts) the content or structure of existing article, with remarkable persistence
  • He constantly creates extra work for others, who are constantly forced to correct his errors.
  • The net result of his edits is clearly negative. Wikipedia is simply not the right place for someone like him to undermine the work of others and make life difficult for everyone.Accipiter GentilisQ.(D) 19:03, 5 October 2026 (UTC)

[edit]

Hello. I would like to request the undeletion of Q141647571 (BEONx), deleted on 5 October 2026 for not meeting the notability policy.

BEONx (formerly Beonprice) is a hotel revenue management software company founded in 2012 in Salamanca, Spain. I believe it meets criterion 2 of Wikidata:Notability, as it is described by serious, publicly available sources:

The item was deleted shortly after creation, before references had been added. If restored, every statement will carry these references and the descriptions will be neutral (e.g. "Spanish hotel revenue management software company").

Structural need (criterion 3). Q140364106 (SEO w praktyce, Helion 2025, ISBN 978-83-289-2744-5) lists its chapter authors with author (P50) and the qualifier "coauthor" (e.g. Q133444548, Q139622268, Q141248998). The publisher's table of contents attributes chapter 44, "Narzędzia no-code i low-code" (p. 711), to Roman Rozenberger: https://helion.pl/ksiazki/seo-w-praktyce-artur-strzelecki,seopra.htm ; sample PDF: https://helion.pl/pobierz-fragment/seo-w-praktyce-artur-strzelecki,seopra/pdf . Planned statements: instance of web application and software as a service, official website, inception 2026, X username waveletamarket, logo image (File:Waveleta logo.png on Commons) and "different from" wavelet (Q831390), to separate it from the mathematical term. Uninvolved admin needed to review & close mass editing RFC

[edit]

Could we have one of you take a look at Wikidata:Requests for comment/Mass-editing policy - in particular see Moving this RfC to closure. From the voting on the proposed (revised) policy, I count 17/21 in favor, so about 81%. I think this is urgently needed as policy given recent incidents of dubious mass edits. Implementing it means adding the policy page, adding the Caveats sub-page, and adding the Wikidata:Mass editing proposals page presumably with a suitable proposal template. I am happy to help with the implementation if this is considered approved. ArthurPSmith (talk) 20:30, 6 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Undeletion request: Q140645425 (Digitim)

[edit]

Hello,

On 28 September I asked Saroj, who deleted Q140645425 (Digitim) on 25 July 2026, whether the item could be restored: User talk:Saroj#Undeletion request: Q140645425 (Digitim). I have not received a reply, so I am bringing the request here.

Disclosure: I am co-founder of PingPrime, a consultancy paid by Digitim; this is disclosed on my user page.

Q140645425 was deleted as a recreation of an earlier deleted item. Both items were created in July 2026 by User:Bouvard Digitim, a Digitim employee new to Wikidata, who should have contacted the deleting admin instead of recreating the item. He will no longer edit these items; I am now the only person handling them.

The earlier versions relied on the business register only. The item can now be referenced to independent press coverage spanning several years:

Could an administrator tell me why the first item was deleted, and consider restoring Q140645425? Nobody will recreate the item without an administrator's agreement. If restored, every statement will be referenced to these sources and the description will stay neutral.

Thank you,

Sitenotice to advertise the Wikidata Query Service Days from October 9th to 23rd

[edit]

Hello admins,

The Event:Query Service Days 2026 is taking place soon, and we really want to reach any Wikidatans who use the WDQS or SPARQL as they will be affected by the upcoming Blazegraph to QLever migration. I was hoping to display a banner on Wikidata for the event and the period leading up to it.

I'd like to use MediaWiki:Sitenotice (like we have previously done for other Wikidata Days events) from October 9th to 23rd, displaying the following message:

The Query service is migrating, if you are a tool maintainer or data reuser, let us help you adapt your queries and tools to the new endpoint.
Join the online event: Wikidata Query Service Days 2026, October 17th to 23rd, 2026! Danny Benjafield (WMDE) (talk) 13:26, 7 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request to restore Q141216770 (BlumHost)

[edit]

Hello administrators,

I am requesting the restoration of Q141216770 (BlumHost), a Spanish web hosting company based in Madrid, Spain.

Disclosure: I am an editor with a conflict of interest (I created the item on behalf of the company). I am disclosing this in full compliance with Wikidata policies.

Background: The item was deleted on 19 September 2026 by administrator Saroj using the Nuke tool ("Mass deletion of pages added by Bestiageo"). I filed a note on the administrator's talk page on 4 October 2026 but received no response, so I am bringing this to the proper venue.

Why BlumHost meets notability criteria (N2):

BlumHost (blumhost.net) is a Spanish web hosting company founded in 2022, operating servers located in Madrid, Spain. It has been independently covered in multiple Spanish media outlets:

  1. El Confidencial Digital (28 January 2026) — national Spanish news portal, "Noticias" (news) editorial section, article about digital business strategy with substantive mention of BlumHost and links to blumhost.net: https://www.elconfidencialdigital.com/articulo/noticias/que-ve-negocio-digital-que-puede-marcar-exito-fracaso/202601281712411000539.html
  1. La República (25 February 2026) — national Spanish news media, "Ciencia y Tecnología" section, article on digital infrastructure explicitly naming BlumHost as an example provider with links to blumhost.net and blumhost.net/vps-espana: https://larepublica.es/2026/02/25/infraestructura-digital-un-pilar-clave-para-el-desarrollo-empresarial/
  1. Getafe Capital (17 July 2026) — regional Madrid newspaper (Getafe municipality), article on digital sovereignty for Spanish SMEs with a dedicated section about BlumHost's GDPR compliance: https://www.getafecapital.com/2026/07/la-nueva-soberania-digital-por-que-cada-vez-mas-pymes-espanolas-vigilan-donde-esta-alojada-su-web/
  1. SoloLinux.es (30 May 2026) — established Spanish Linux and server technology publication, "Software" section, article on common VPS configuration errors with editorial mention of BlumHost's Spanish VPS offering: https://sololinux.es/errores-comunes-al-configurar-un-vps-linux/
  1. Spanish Wikipedia — the article w:es:Alojamiento web de revendedor (Reseller web hosting) cites BlumHost as a real-world service provider, providing structural need for the Wikidata item.

These sources represent independent editorial coverage across national and regional Spanish media, satisfying the N2 notability criterion.

The item, if restored, would contain the following verifiable properties: official website (P856: https://blumhost.net), country (P17: Spain), instance of (P31: web hosting provider), inception (P571: 2022).

Thank you for reviewing this request. Bestiageo (talk) 16:44, 7 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request for undeletion: Q138978381 (Alle's ClinX)

[edit]

The item [[Q138978381]] (Alle's ClinX) was deleted on 17 September 2026 for not meeting the Wikidata notability policy.

I am requesting undeletion because significant new independent coverage was published after the deletion.

On 1 October 2026, Inc42 published a dedicated section about Alle's ClinX in its editorial feature “30 Startups To Watch: Startups That Caught Our Eye In September 2026”:

https://inc42.com/startups/30-startups-to-watch-startups-that-caught-our-eye-in-september-2026/

The Inc42 coverage independently identifies Alle's ClinX, states that it was founded in 2023, identifies its founder, describes its professional cleaning and hygiene product portfolio, the institutional sectors it serves, and its activities in India's industrial and institutional cleaning chemicals market.

This independent source was published after the original deletion and therefore was not available when the item was deleted.

I believe this new source provides serious and publicly available reference material relevant to Wikidata's notability criteria. I would therefore appreciate reconsideration and restoration of Q138978381.

Thank you. ~~~~ ~2026-48919-36 (talk) 17:15, 7 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Q140357652: request for uninvolved review of archived undeletion request

[edit]

Hello,

I am requesting an uninvolved administrator review of my previous restoration request for **Q140357652 (Australian Jeevitham)**, which was posted on 24 September and appears to have been automatically archived without an administrator making a determination.

For transparency, I am the creator of Australian Jeevitham and therefore have a conflict of interest. I am not recreating the item myself and am asking an uninvolved editor or administrator to assess the sources.

There is also relevant context from when the item was originally created. User:Jlwoodwa advised on my talk page that the item did not clearly demonstrate notability and specifically suggested that multiple articles about the subject in independent publications such as newspapers or magazines would be a good indication of notability:

https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User_talk:AustralianJeevitham

The independent sources that were missing from the original item have now been identified.

    • 1. India Today Malayalam, 12 December 2022**

https://malayalam.indiatoday.in/fact-check/story/fact-check-kangaroo-video-post-not-kerala-482254-2022-12-12

India Today's fact-check independently traced a viral kangaroo video to the **Australian Jeevitham YouTube channel and Facebook page**. The article explicitly states that its team contacted **Binu Vadakkedath, creator of Australian Jeevitham**, to verify the original footage.

    • 2. Malayala Manorama / Karshakasree, 11 February 2023**

https://www.manoramaonline.com/karshakasree/home-garden/2023/02/11/why-this-software-engineer-started-a-farm.html

This independent article profiles the creator and his farming activities in Townsville, Australia. It also directly links to a YouTube video titled **"കേരളത്തിലും കങ്കാരുക്കളോ? #shorts #australianjeevitham #kangaroo"**.

    • 3. Malayala Manorama / Karshakasree, 21 October 2023**

https://www.manoramaonline.com/karshakasree/farm-management/2023/10/21/coconut-toddy-production-in-australia.html

This article discusses toddy tapping in Australia and explicitly attributes the accompanying video to Binu Mathew, an Australian resident. The linked video is content from the Australian Jeevitham channel.

    • 4. Malayala Manorama, 11 December 2025**

https://www.manoramaonline.com/global-malayali/other-countries/2025/12/11/pravasi-malayali-toddy-tapping-australia.html

This is a substantial independent feature about Binu's life in Townsville, his software-engineering profession and his Kerala-style farming activities.

There are also additional independent Malayala Manorama articles from 2023 and 2026 concerning the creator and his Australian content, which can be provided if further sourcing is required.

The specific deficiency identified when the item was originally created was the absence of independent published sources. Those sources are now available.

Could an uninvolved administrator please determine whether this new evidence is sufficient for restoration of **Q140357652** under Wikidata's notability criteria?

Thank you. AustralianJeevitham (talk) 06:35, 8 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi! @ChrisDelcuse, have created and deleted contend about Chris Delcuse (Q140420453). I already block him 3 days and did it again today for one week since he continued. Should I block him permanlently or just block to modify that item? A advice would be welcome. He also threaten other user (see User talk:Maxime Ravel#Stop) who modify "his" item. It seem that the user only interested to edit stuff related to them. I think indef block is justified, there are evidence of harassing other user, and also the items they edit seem to be not much notable. Relied on registrar, there are evidence that the subject is politician, but I fail to see any reliable sources outside registrar to establish notability for inclusion. Other opinion are welcome. I created the Wikidata item for OnPoint VA Connect:

I would like to ask whether edit protection is appropriate for this item. My goal is to keep its information accurate and prevent disruptive or unsupported changes.

I understand that Wikidata is collaboratively edited and that creating an item does not grant exclusive ownership. I would appreciate your review and guidance.

Abuse filter blocked creating an item for Surgence Labs

[edit]

I tried to create an item for Surgence Labs, a Web3 and crypto marketing agency founded in 2022 and based in Dubai, and the edit was blocked by the abuse filter "specific spam items". I work at the company, so I am declaring a conflict of interest.

The item would only hold plain facts with sources: instance of business (Q4830453) and marketing agency (Q9592701), industry digital marketing (Q1323528), inception 2022, country United Arab Emirates (Q878), headquarters location Dubai (Q612), official website https://surgence.io, and the company's X, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and Crunchbase identifiers. Source: https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/surgence-labs

Could an administrator review whether this was a false positive, or create the item if it meets the notability policy? Thank you. Ruthybuilds (talk) 09:09, 9 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request for undeletion: Q140753911 (MANIMAMA OÜ)

[edit]

I request undeletion of Q140753911 (MANIMAMA OÜ, an Estonian law firm working in crypto and fintech regulation), deleted on 1 August 2026 following a notability discussion (deletion log).

Disclosure: I work at Manimama and created the original item. I understand the concern raised in the deletion discussion: the item relied on primary registry references. This request concerns the company item only; I am not requesting undeletion of the two related person items.

Since the deletion I have collected independent editorial coverage where the firm itself is the subject of the article, which was not presented in the original discussion:

Supporting identifiers for verifiability (not claimed as notability on their own): Estonian Business Register 14803352, LEI 529900PH0UP25BN36O17.

I would appreciate the administrators' assessment of whether the available sources are sufficient to meet Wikidata's notability criterion 2, concerning serious and publicly available references describing the entity.

If the existing sources are considered insufficient, I would welcome guidance on what additional independent references would be necessary to establish the item's eligibility for restoration.

If the item is restored, I will ensure that its statements are supported by appropriate references and that its content remains strictly factual, neutral, and non-promotional.

Report concerning User:日巫女

[edit]

It seems that User:日巫女 is copying the entire Geni database into Wikidata. They were questioned about it on their talk page, and kept doing it. This includes people with no names: NN NN NN (and many, many others). Is this really necessary? OBender12 (talk) 15:14, 9 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

@OBender12 I will stop. I am sorry about this. I had something I was working on and did scale back a bit and I apologize for scaling back too slowly and not being responsive enough. 日巫女 (talk) 20:58, 9 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
And as for the weird names I isolated the exact cause of it and did fix it immediately after receiving the message, but did not properly communicate it. 日巫女 (talk) 21:08, 9 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Fixing that is good, but I don't understand how it makes sense to transfer the Geni database to here, especially since that data is not exactly sourced. OBender12 (talk) 01:51, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

The sandbox history is broken

[edit]

Hello,

Wikidata:Sandbox allows to carry out experiments. But the page should not be moved.

Recently:

So my request is:

Regards, NicoScribe (talk) 21:46, 9 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

This looks fiddly. The manual says to make sure to merge newer revisions first and the existence of redirect revisions means pages have to be deleted and select revisions restored to prevent overlaps.
Since the sandbox has deleted revisions (censored content), does anyone know for certain if those show up on the Undeletion page? Because that would be a pain to deal with. Infrastruktur (talk) 13:17, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Fikret Çelik (Q139588010)

[edit]

Fikret Çelik (Q139588010)

[edit]
    • Reason for restoration request:**

I kindly request the undeletion of the author profile for the contemporary Turkish poet and author **Fikret Çelik (Q139588010)**. This item was unfortunately deleted following a localized domino effect after a sister project cleanup, which led to the misconception that the subject lacks standalone encyclopedic value. However, the subject fully meets the Wikidata notability guidelines for authors and contemporary literature.

Crucially, the items for his officially registered and published books are currently **active and verified** on Wikidata:

  • **Book 1:** *Rüzgarın Resmi Haikular* (2025) – d:Q139587817
  • **Book 2:** *Kuş Yokuşu* (2022) – d:Q139587845
  • **Book 3:** *Sonrası* (2018) – d:Q61075623

Because the main author item (Q139588010) was deleted, the "author" property (P50) on all three active book items is currently broken, damaging the structural integrity of the database.

Furthermore, the subject's independent literary presence and public cultural impact are heavily documented by authoritative sources: 1. **Official Documentation:** His verified professional history and continuous literary activities are cataloged on his official blog: https://blogspot.com 2. **Institutional Recognition:** He was an official guest speaker at the prestigious National Cultural Road Festival organized by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism (2026), presenting his literary works. 3. **Mainstream Literary Presence:** His poems have been consistently published in the highest-tier, historical national literary journals of Türkiye, including *Varlık* (the country's longest-running literary magazine), *Türk Dili* (published by the Turkish Language Association - TDK), *Papirüs*, and *Sadece Şiir*. 4. **International Presence:** His works have been translated and published internationally across prominent literary journals in the UK (London), Serbia (Belgrade), Azerbaijan (Baku), Russia (Moscow), and Iran (Tehran).

Restoring Q139588010 is essential to repair the database links for his active publications and to accurately document a published contemporary author within the Wikimedia ecosystem. Thank you for your time and objective review. Deniz yel (talk) 22:56, 9 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

New Mass-editing policy

[edit]

I just created Wikidata:Mass-editing policy based on the conclusion of Wikidata:Requests for comment/Mass-editing policy. It should probably be translated; the related subpages with Caveats and the proposal page are also new and may need some attention. Thanks to User:Lymantria for reviewing and closing the RFC.
