As a follow-up to the news one month ago of Intel Nova Lake P's graphics introducing a new 64-bit GPU mode, the latest driver-side enablement has now landed for Intel's Iris Gallium3D OpenGL driver for supporting efficient 64-bit addressing.

The Intel ANV Vulkan driver was adapted last month for this new "efficient 64-bit" GPU mode first debuting with Nova Lake P. Now merged as of yesterday is the big patch series supporting efficient 64-bit addressing mode for the Iris Gallium3D code.

Intel engineer José Roberto de Souza explained in the merge request:
"This MR adds efficient 64bit addressing mode support to Iris, following the same approach used in ANV and blorp...There is still room for improvement, which I plan to address in a follow-up MRs."

The merge spanned 45 patches and via DriConf allows toggling the efficient 64-bit mode coming with NVL-P. This code is merged for Mesa 26.3 due out in November.
