mesa bug effecting 'Ryzen APU's Raven gfx9'
Considering the mesa bug effecting 'Ryzen APU's Raven gfx9' and patched packages being discussed here, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=2227172#p2227172 should we consider mentioning it in the 'Install' section with a link pointing to the packages? https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=2227056#p2227056 Weezer (talk) 21:13, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
- It's a good thought, but not suitable for the section. Once it manifests itself into a longer running bug report that needs tracking, it could be described in OpenGL#Development and linked down from OpenGL#Installation. Meanwhile simply keeping this talk item open may also help. --Indigo (talk) 22:26, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
EGL device selection
Should we mentionGBM_BACKEND=dri vs. GBM_BACKEND=nvidia-drm? I have an amdgpu (primary/card0) + nvidia (card1) system where eglinfo along with several apps try to initialize the nvidia and fail (bc it's dedicated to CUDA/LLM thus not fully configured as display device). The error in eglinfo was eglinfo: eglInitialize failed.
The usual environment variables (e.g. DRI_PRIME, __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME, MESA_LOADER_DRIVER_OVERRIDE et al) were totally ignored. Setting the [previously unset]GBM_BACKEND=dri is the only functional fix I've found. Richardm (talk) 11:27, 13 September 2026 (UTC)
