Configuring MAC address randomization

Hi! The accuracy template for NetworkManager#Configuring MAC address randomization says an entry should be provided at MAC address spoofing#iwd. Please refer to the 1st note point in that section which talks specifically about that issue. The accuracy template is for disputed facts, but the note explicitly talks about the issue. Please clarify what the dispute is about. TheKnightSky (talk) 11:59, 8 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Done with [1]. Closing. You're welcome to adjust it or re-open this if unclear. An accuracy template always refers to the section it is added to, i.e. the crosslink was a suggestion to point to the section with the resolution. --Indigo (talk) 13:47, 9 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Deleting a wrong category page

Hello @Indigo,

I noticed that there is a category page I left by mistake (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php?title=Category:Category:Documentation_markup_languages:Texinfo&redirect=no). Can you delete it because I am not sure how?

Have a nice day! MartinMihalkov (talk) 06:50, 12 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello, ah yes, thanks! I deleted it. --Indigo (talk) 18:32, 12 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Texinfo page not showing up in Google search result

Hello @Indigo,

there is a odd situation with the Texinfo article. When I search for "texinfo arch", only Texinfo/Info appears as a search result in the search engine, but not "Texinfo - ArchWiki". I have to write exactly "Texinfo - ArchWiki" for the engine to find my page. I tried with both Google and DuckDuckGo and it was the same case.

Another weird thing is that even though "Texinfo/Info - ArchWiki" appears as a search result it is shown after "texinfo(5) - Arch Manual Pages" and the "texinfo 7.3-1 (x86_64)" package page.

Is there something we could do, to alter how these web engines find these articles (for example adding more search keywords in the wiki HTML if possible)? MartinMihalkov (talk) 12:11, 14 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

You might have triggered them crawling the article the first time. No, we are strict about any hidden comments/keywords, etc. The wiki frequently ranks very high for a number of reasons, but no seo tricks - just relevant content. Personally, it makes me happy to read texinfo(5) ranks high, because it's super relevant and a project of a colleague. He developed it so we can link up-to-date manual pages in the wiki, and even hosted it privately until it was moved to Arch infrastructure. I'm biased but consider it to be the single best improvement for the wiki. Let's hope we don't need crawler protection for that community service too sometime. Other than that, simply give the search engines more time to gobble up who needs to read what first. --Indigo (talk) 21:47, 14 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
