Welcome to the Photography critiques!
Would you like a second opinion before nominating a photograph of yours as a Quality Image, Valued Image or Featured Picture candidate, can't decide which of your images to enter into one of the Photo Challenges? Or do you have specific questions about how to improve your photography or just would like some general feedback?
This is the right page to gather other people's opinions!
If you want general suggestions to a good photo, you can ask here, and we already wrote guidelines.
If you don't get some terminology used here, don't be shy you can ask about it, or read
Please insert new entries at the bottom, and comment on oldest entries first.
To prevent archiving use {{subst:DNAU}}, because SpBot archives all sections after 90 days, unless archiving has been postponed or suppressed through the use of {{subst:DNAU}}. You can ask the bot to archive a section earlier by using {{Section resolved|1=~~~~}} – then it will be archived after 7 days.

- First pic: backlit lighting, average image quality (phone camera + typical phone denoising). The colors are a bit odd because the shadows are extremely saturated blue. Second pic: also backlit lighting (though the editing has rescued it slightly) and much worse sharpness (seems to have been upscaled a lot), and still overly strong saturation. As such I don't think they would make it at QI or FP. But overall, these photos are still valuable contributions since this part of Algeria doesn't have a lot of photos, so thank you for your contributions! dllu (talk) 21:15, 18 September 2026 (UTC)
- Adding on to say upscaling is frowned upon generally. If you didn't already, set your iPhone to shoot in RAW and then process the RAWs in LR. As per dllu, what is more important is the significance of these photos. JayCubby (talk) 21:24, 18 September 2026 (UTC)
- Ok thanks, i'll for next photos to take it in RAW. Tasye24 (talk) 07:55, 19 September 2026 (UTC)

Swamp in the Fall
[edit]Looking for suggestions on anything I should have done differently to improve these pictures. I'm trying to capture the color of the early-fall foliage with the natural beauty of the wetland. I'm especially uncertain about my skills with composition; if there's some other angle I should have captured instead I could certainly go back there and try again while the trees are still colorful. I know I have a dust spot I need to deal with too. Thanks for any feedback you can provide. — PeterCooperJr (talk) 12:45, 5 October 2026 (UTC)
