Territorial Disputes: Three stretches of land borders with Indonesia have yet to be delimited, two of which are in the Oecussi exclave area, and no maritime or Economic Exclusion Zone (EEZ) boundaries have been established between the countries; maritime boundaries with Indonesia remain unresolved; between 2005 and 2015, 500 border landmarks were placed and another 200 were proposed; Timor-Leste and Australia reached agreement on a treaty delimiting a permanent maritime boundary in Mar 2018; both countries ratified the treaty in Aug 2019.
