Wikidata:WikiProject Creative Residencies

Welcome to Wikidata:WikiProject Creative Residencies, a project with the scope of documenting world's ecosystem of creative residencies, artist-in-residence programmes, writers residencies, and all about these kind of cultural venues and programmes.

Aim and Scope

The aim of the present project is to create the world’s most complete high quality database of cultural & creative residencies, both as cultural centers itself or as a specific programme of a wider cultural venue.

The project more specifically serves to coordinate the following activities:

the creation of an inventory of all existing public databases that contain data about cultural & creative residencies, including writers residencies and similar programmes.
the implementation and maintenance of ontologies and multilingual thesauri relating to this reality;
the ingestion of data about creative residencies into Wikidata;
the enhancement and completion of such data;
the use of the data to create maintenance lists on Wikipedia;
the inclusion of the data into Wikipedia and its sister projects, such as in infoboxes or lists.

Background

This project has been launched in 2023.
