Motivation

[edit]

MusiciansPage is an international networking platform dedicated to professional musicians, singers, conductors, composers, teachers and other performing artists. It provides individual artist profiles containing biographical information, professional activities, repertoire, media, and contact information. Introducing a dedicated external identifier for MusiciansPage on Wikidata would improve authority control for musicians and performers by linking Wikidata items to their corresponding profiles on this long-established professional music platform. The property would facilitate interoperability between Wikidata and a widely used international directory of music professionals while enriching the open-data ecosystem with an additional source of verified artist information.
