Motivation
[edit]KennisWest.be is the regional knowledge and documentation database of the Provincial Administration of West Flanders. The database contains publicly described entities with a unique numerical identification code and a stable permalink. A Wikidata property, KennisWest-ID, enables a durable and verifiable link between these regional records and corresponding Wikidata items. The property increases the visibility of West Flemish businesses, public sector organisations, individuals, projects, programmes, transport systems and geographical entities. A sustainable link between KennisWest and Wikidata ensures greater visibility for regional entities; the comparison and supplementation of data; support for linked data; and multilingual access. The KennisWest database stores the corresponding Wikidata item numbers internally; the external ID would make it possible to make this link bidirectional. --Geertivp 15:14, 4 September 2026 (UTC)

Support I support this proposal. KennisWest.be is a sustainably maintained regional knowledge and documentation database with public identifiers and stable permalinks. This property would enable a durable and verifiable link between KennisWest records and corresponding Wikidata items, supporting reuse, data enrichment and multilingual access.
