Removal of P625

Hi Jklamo, you removed many coordinate location (P625) Instances of companies. Please note that several items are not only companies but also subclasses of factory (Q83405) which should have Geocoordinates! Also, the Nearby function does not find items that have coordinates at other entries than P625 making companies invisible in this view, I miss that information. -- Gerd Fahrenhorst (talk) 04:55, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

The problem is mixing companies and factories in one item. This is not good, each has different characteristics (and thus properties), also a company can run several factories and vice versa a factory can be run by several companies in succession. Company names

I'd say to your whatever ~importing system not to ~decapitalize company names (for labels) if they contain acronyms, which would be hard to say whether it isn't just all-capsized normal word(s), so at least not to do it if they contain both low- and uppercase letters. Ručně si na to dávám pozor. Při importech také, ale vzhledem k velkému množství variant firemních dodatků (včetně různých překlepů a mezer) je to někdy těžké všechno odchytit (třeba u organizačních složek, které to mají někde v názvu, je to skoro automaticky nemožné). Silent rv

After a revert of (at least seemingly) incorrect info (intentional ping included automatically) with a mention of no ref, I think it would be better to add ~requested ref, instead of just a silent revert without any ref added (like in Q131547285). Hi @Jklamo, thank you for your interest! I wondered about the same question when I encountered these organizations. I thing it's better having them as separate items because they describe entities operating in France, even if they don't have a legal personality. There's still work to do and it's not my main focus right now. Regarding Q6881511: please don't use it. Either it's a too vague concept or it's a duplicate of other properties.
