English description corrections for Andhra Pradesh towns

@Hmains, Your edit is reverted, as it is not true. It may be based on enwiki page, which itself had used city without any citations. Sometimes I noticed changes based on the earlier description of item also lead to wrong updates. I have corrected the entry to reflect it as a town. I do not see the need for item as town itself could be used. Please note the above in future edits. Thanks Arjunaraoc (talk) 12:46, 26 February 2022 (UTC)

Your P131 changes for Andhra Pradesh mandals

@Hmains, I could not understand why you removed the historical P131 claims for Andhra Pradesh mandals, with end date ([https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q56823653&curid=56745475&diff=1642120462&oldid=1637071470 Ex1:Sankhavaram mandal], [https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q59939820&diff=prev&oldid=1642127550 Ex2:Pedapudi mandal] Having this data does not harm, as the currently valid P131 can be easily obtained through queries. the problem I saw was that on pages in Commons that use this data only showed the past data and not the current data. Perhaps if the sequence of the data were reversed from what you originally entered, the current data would be first and would show up in the Commons pages. Hmains (talk) 00:37, 20 May 2022 (UTC)

@Hmains, Thanks for your reply. I tried to look for the commons pages with the problem you mentioned, but could not succeed. Can you give me the URL? Sorry. After I wrote my just above message, I went ahead and fixed the two items that you mentioned above as well as fixing several new items I found yesterday so that the latest data is first in the Wikidata locations. @Arjunaraoc Another found. item in Wikidata: P.Gannavaram mandal; used indirectly in Commons Category:Ganti Pedapudi. And also Kapileswarapuram mandal and so on. -- Hmains 2022-05-21T00:37:34

@Hmains, Thanks for sharing additional info. Wikidata is mainly meant for machine consumption, so the order of items is not important. I investigated the problem on Commons and added a request for template updation --Arjunaraoc (talk) 04:47, 21 May 2022 (UTC)

@Hmains, hope you have seen the discussion updates on Commons. The template is likely to be updated to show currently valid information by July 3. Meanwhile, if you find the currently valid mandal is not being shown, you can edit the rank entry for that value as "preferred" in Wikidata. Arjunaraoc (talk) 04:04, 23 May 2022 (UTC)

Redirect of Lane's Redwood Flat here and on Commons

Hi. Lane's Redwood Flat was a group of cabins inside of what is now Smithe Redwoods State Natural Reserve. The nature reserve is different from the business and cabins associated with it though. Different areas, Etc. Etc. It would be like redirecting an item and category for a hotel to the ones for the town it's located in. You'd have to agree that would be wrong.
