Modeling agrégation

[edit]

Starting the day before yesterday, I made a massive cleaning of items connected with the agrégation; I would like to summarise the main changes I made here, since they involved more than 1k items. The main points are

  1. modeling the types of agrégation: agrégation for secondary school teaching (Q15647053) and agrégation for university teaching (Q2827285) are now the only direct subclass of (P279)agrégation (Q397610), all the subtypes are connected to them with subclass of (P279); the statement CAPES (Q2946822)subclass of (P279)agrégation (Q397610), added in 2021 (@Alain Schneider:), seemed improper since CAPES is distinct from agrégation and not a type of agrégation, so I removed it; for all types of agrégation I reviewed all the labels and aliases in Italian and English, and I adopted systematically the following statements: instance of (P31)teacher recruitment competition (Q45107320) + subclass of (P279) + country of citizenship (P27)France (Q142) (the same could be extended in the future to the types of CAPES) - other values of instance of (P31), subclass of (P279), part of (P361) have been systematically removed as either redundant or improper
  2. connection from persons to agrégation: when I started this work, about 3k were expressed through assessment (P5021), a few hundreds with academic degree (P512) or educated at (P69), and a few tens with other improbable properties; manually and through {{Autofix}} I moved all the values to assessment (P5021), as the most suitable for agrégation (I also reordered P5021 after student of (P1066) to make it more visible, since previously it was among the last non-identifier statements, and I added to it the citation-needed constraint (Q54554025) to invite a bit more strongly the users to add references to it), so that now the values are 3821 (or 3829 including non-best rank); in a few tens of cases agrégation was modeled as a qualifier through academic degree (P512), I removed those qualifier and added assessment (P5021) as main statement as a substitution, in order to ensure uniformity, and to make it possible to add the necessary qualifier to the information
  3. values and qualifiers for agrégation: the value should never be agrégation (Q397610), I manually susbstituted more than a hundred of them with the proper specific types (in tens of cases the specific type was somehow specified through a qualifier field of work (P101) or academic major (P812), I removed all of them); the only valid qualifiers (automatic list) are point in time (P585) (sometimes wrongly start time (P580), all fixed), ranking (P1352) (in tens of cases wrongly series ordinal (P1545), all fixed), follows (P155) + followed by (P156) + together with (P1706) + number of participants (P1132); I have doubts on review score (P444) and points awarded (P3260), for which I would like a second check
  4. references: as of now, 2226 agrégation-statements have at least one reference, 1603 no reference; I have added a few tens of references using Les agrégés de l'enseignement secondaire. Répertoire 1809-1960 (Q56395326), a very good and easily accessible source.
