Mix'n'match

edit

@Mahir256: thanks for adding the Mix'n'match catalog! I wonder did you scrape the IDs or did you find a file somewhere? One of the main sources that Yle uses for their identifiers is Wikidata, and that's why many of them link back to Wikidata. You can find the link at "Käsitteen määritelmä" ("definition of the consept" in English) at the bottom of the page (example). I can do some scraping to find QIDs for the unmatched Yle topic IDs, unless you are already doing so? Samoasambia ✎ 11:38, 15 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Here's my first test batch: [1]. I went through the first ~5.4k unmatched IDs and found ~2k Wikidata links. Samoasambia ✎ 14:27, 15 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Samoasambia: Over several months I had a script that slowly went through the whole range and grabbed the labels for topics in different languages. (The catalog omits entries that are simply redirects to others, which is why a manual sync of the catalog may return lots of IDs used on Wikidata that are absent from the catalog.) I had completely neglected to look for QID mappings from the topic pages; you're more than welcome to do this! Mahir256 (talk) 15:53, 15 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Mahir256: Ok, thanks! I'll continue scraping for QIDs :). Samoasambia ✎ 16:03, 15 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
