numeric ID

[edit]

I have proposed a new property (numeric ID) to be used as a stable identifier for this statement. Please join the discussion.--OsamaK (talk) 07:04, 7 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

conflicts-with constraint with instance of musical work/composition

[edit]

Why this property has conflicts-with constraint with instance of musical work/composition? I think this can be used to musical work because Example above. Please let me know your opinion. 2400:2200:686:A8F9:CF4:40CF:BBD7:B2D3 11:38, 9 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

SoundCloud only has recordings of compositions and not the compositions themselves. ShehabTweel165 (talk) 01:34, 30 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Why just slugs for IDs?

[edit]

Seriously, SoundCloud has more stable IDs in their API rather than relying on what is a username/slug that could change at any time. I don't know how to properly propose a property yet but we could have another property that takes in those IDs like what we have with P2397 and P11245 for YouTube.

For reference, they have a blog post announcing their newer ID formats, called URNs, since they'll run out of their old ones: https://developers.soundcloud.com/blog/urn-num-to-string

And from digging around the docs, a validation regex for these URNs should be like /soundcloud:(tracks|playlists|comments|users):(\d+)/gm.

Also we should rename this property to something else. Would "SoundCloud slug" be good? ShehabTweel165 (talk) 01:18, 30 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
