This property has been used a lot for places that are not jurisdictions, and I'd like to rename it to reflect its use as applying to any place, not just jurisdictions. For example, see Euro+Med PlantBase taxon ID (P12380) , where it has been used with values Europe (Q46) , Mediterranean Basin (Q72499) , and Caucasus (Q18869) . And item Primate of the Orthodox Church in America (Q113784960) , where it was used with value North America (Q49) . valid in place (P3005) , so it's not clear what the difference between the two properties would be if this one is made more broad. The second example, as far as I can tell, is intended to be the North American diocese mentioned on en:w:List of primates of the Orthodox Church in America which doesn't seem to have an item yet. This property doesn't make sense to me on Euro+Med PlantBase taxon ID (P12380) even if we were to call it "applies to place" (it applies to a taxon, not a place). Comment I have changed the English label name to remove the word "territorial". position held (P39) requires this as a quantifier, and as such the territorial aspect was no longer applicable, so it would seem that this does apply for non-public offices. — billinghurst sDrewth 03:51, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
