Linux 4.7-rc1 Kernel Released

Written by Michael Larabel in Linux Kernel on 29 May 2016 at 01:10 PM EDT. 7 Comments

The first test release of Linux 4.7 is now available. This new kernel version comes with plenty of new features and functionality.

You can read Torvalds' brief 4.7-rc1 announcement via the kernel mailing list.

The announcement by Linus doesn't dive into the features of the new kernel, but fortunately I have you covered with this morning's Linux 4.7 kernel feature overview. Check it out if you haven't already.

Linux 4.7-rc1 adds around 200,000 lines of new code to the kernel.
