For more than 140 years — from the state’s gold rush era to the opening of the Denali branch in Anchorage, Alaska — Wells Fargo has invested in the people, businesses, and communities building Alaska’s future. The new midtown Anchorage location gives Wells Fargo employees the tools and customers the access they need to help Alaskans reach their financial goals. This branch represents a significant investment in Alaska and is an important milestone in our ongoing branch transformation strategy,” said Sophia Dadas, Wells Fargo’s Market Growth and Transformation Executive. “We’re proud that our employees and partners will get to serve Alaskans as the only large national bank with a retail branch presence in the state.” Over two days during the Denali grand opening in early August, Wells Fargo leaders met with customers, elected officials, nonprofit partners, local businesses, and community members. The grand opening included cultural performances, historical storytelling, and community engagement activities honoring Alaska’s culture, history, and unique traditions. “We believe neighborhood growth starts with opportunity,” said Wells Fargo Managing Director Dawson Her Many Horses. “And in many communities, opportunity begins with local businesses and community organizations. This branch is a reflection of Wells Fargo’s commitment to supporting and investing in those communities.” Through our partnership with Operation HOPE, community members can access free one-on-one financial coaching through HOPE Inside, helping people build budgets, improve credit, reduce debt, and turn their goals into reality. Wells Fargo is the only large national bank with a retail presence in Alaska. Since 2021, philanthropic giving from Wells Fargo & Company and the Wells Fargo Foundation totaled roughly $4.9 million in support of housing, business growth, financial opportunity, and other community needs for Alaskans. Payments are changing quickly, but clients shouldn’t have to manage the complexity that comes with that change. In an interview with Sibos TV, Wells Fargo’s Ather Williams III, Head of Global Payments & Liquidity, discussed how banks can bring together different technologies, payment rails, and payments and liquidity data to help clients make better decisions. The goal is simple: combine data, intelligence, and execution to deliver better business outcomes for clients, with security and trust at the center. https://lnkd.in/ef33EPvC

Clients expect money to move quickly, securely, and increasingly around the clock. Delivering that experience at scale requires collaboration across the financial system. At Sibos, Ather Williams III, Head of Global Payments & Liquidity at Wells Fargo, and David Watson, President and CEO of The Clearing House (TCH), discussed how Wells Fargo and other financial institutions are working together to advance infrastructure connecting tokenized deposits with established payment rails. For clients, the outcome should be greater simplicity, not more complexity. As new payment capabilities emerge, interoperability can help clients send money around the world while their banks manage the underlying rails and networks. At this year’s View from the Top session, Wells Fargo CFO Mike Santomassimo shared his perspective on the U.S. economy, AI, and the future of payments. His point on payments was clear: clients care about outcomes, not technology. They want to move money faster, with greater certainty and availability. The technology may evolve quickly, but success will ultimately be measured by how well it solves real client needs.

It’s a simple idea: When we open a new branch, the neighborhood should grow with us. That’s the recipe for success behind our new $5 million Neighborhood Growth Grants initiative. We’re kicking it off by investing $1.5 million to support Chicago-area businesses, including 16 entrepreneurs near our Bronzeville branch like CBQ Facial Beauty Bar, Nitro Nostalgia, and Sip & Savor Hospitality Group. In addition to the grants, which average $25,000 per business, recipients also get mentoring and technical assistance from local partners like Chicago’s Allies for Community Business for Community Business to help their businesses thrive. Watch how these entrepreneurs are investing their grants into growing their businesses and enriching their neighborhoods. https://lnkd.in/ePdxxUxH
