Mecka announced a $60M Series B today, led by Sequoia Capital. Qualcomm Ventures participated, and we are glad to be part of it. Robot models are limited by data. Mecka collects that data in the real world, using sensors they design and build themselves. I think owning the hardware matters, since data quality is mostly decided at capture time on edge devices. Congrats to Josh Gao, Jason Chong, and the Mecka team!

Wow, fantastic to see such collaboration between LPs and GPs at yesterday's event hosted at Silicon Foundry's amazing office overlooking the San Francisco bay. H/T Ken at DLA Piper, Ellen at Orrick, Prutha, Mark, Benjamin, Jennifer The context was laid out by chairman Ira's opening remarks and deeper dive with Dave at Pinegrove moderated by Greg at Orrick: VC firms are like the entrepreneurs they back. The majority fail. The survivors make the world a better place and deliver the returns to those who trusted them with their money. The challenge is with the increased consolidation of venture as LPs focus on the relatively few managers who have scaled to maturity and often as franchises with successful succession beyond the founders and able to manage large pools of money. The velocity of capital going out the door to entrepreneurs to help them scale up is exacerbating the issue. Growth funds can be effectively through their investment cycle in months rather than years. But what's exciting is as AI enables entrepreneurs and investors to accelerate their growth and have the systems in place handle this so the scale of the opportunity increases, too. More money, at greater pace, with bigger returns. The promise of untold wealth is becoming reality. So, the advice from Allen at Endeavor and George, ex-IQT managing partner built on Kauffman Fellows alumni research project, Zero to Four: How VCs Evolve From Fund to Firm, and From Firm to Franchise, to understand what traits lead to a successful VC: https://lnkd.in/ehtSVdMP They also learn from the Titans, such as Quinn at Qualcomm and Tarik at Allstate who have run their CVC units for the past decade. https://lnkd.in/ecQA4arf On the other side, Winter at Coolwater, David at Side Letter and Claudia, ex-founder of IBM Ventures and now Stanford GSB professor, picked up the 12 LP personality types and how to back good managers and add value. For more on this, see Tom at Backcountry's op-ed in GCV this month: https://lnkd.in/d5Pza_qV GCV for where innovation meets capital: CVCs can take our annual survey here https://lnkd.in/e_Cbp_xM and we'll be inviting more LPs to meet GPS at our next www.GCVISummit.com in Monterey

$0 to $1B annualized run rate in just 18 months, Higgsfield AI has achieved what few companies ever do. From $50M ARR last September to $500M mid-year, $700M at the Series B, and now this — the pace is extraordinary. What stands out isn’t just the number. It’s the quality of the growth: - Strong demand from DTC brands and enterprises (enterprise contracts up 10x since June) - 30M+ users worldwide, including 78% Fortune 500s - Commercial advertising driving the majority of platform activity - Cash-flow positive while scaling at this velocity - Making high-quality AI video creation accessible to non-technical teams at unprecedented speed Alex Mashrabov and the team have built something special: an AI-native video platform that is rapidly becoming essential infrastructure for modern marketing and creative workflows. The product velocity, focus on real business outcomes, and operational discipline are rare in this space. Congratulations to the entire Higgsfield AI team. This is one of those rare moments when the trajectory matches the ambition. Excited for what’s next.

Founder @ Higgsfield AI; 1x exit; ex-Director of Generative AI @ Snap; 2x ACM ICPC World Finals

Today, Higgsfield crossed $1B in annualized revenue. 18 months since launch. We’ve grown 20x in a single year, and the momentum across the business is incredible: • Enterprise adoption is up 115% month-over-month (driven by an enterprise team of less than 20 people!) • 300% net revenue retention • Positive gross margins since the beginning of the year I'm so proud of our team. Almost all of our founding members are still with us today, proving that compounding talent is the ultimate advantage. They blend world-class engineering with creative DNA, driving relentless speed and execution. Higgsfield remains #1 in multimedia AI by helping businesses scale revenue while cutting production costs by up to 97%. With 78% of Fortune 500 brands and more than 32 million creators powered by our platform, our hyper-focus is on delivering the best creative workflow and efficiency. But we are barely scratching the surface. LFG. 🚀

  • The future of computing may be worn, not carried. Advances in AI, sensing, and low-power computing are transforming wearables from passive trackers into intelligent platforms that can better understand context, behavior, and user needs. In our latest blog, Anirvan Chowdhury, shares why we invested in Ultrahuman and why we believe wearable intelligence represents one of the most exciting frontiers in consumer technology. One observation from a discussion at the Imagination in Action (IIA) Silicon Valley AI Summit has stayed with me: For the last 20 years, software investors looked for scarcity in code. Today, some of the biggest AI moats are found in the physical world. It was a privilege to join Krystal Hu (Reuters), Ulrike Hoffmann-Burchardi (UBS), and Dave B. Blundin (Link Ventures) on the panel "Seeing the Future Through Capital" last week. The full session is now live here: https://lnkd.in/g9R5ZfQh A few themes emerged: • AI is creating companies that reach meaningful scale at a pace we've never seen before. What used to take years can now happen in months. • The industry remains obsessed with models, but increasingly the constraints are compute, power, manufacturing capacity, and access to scarce resources. • The definition of a moat is evolving. Proprietary data, infrastructure access, distribution, and ecosystem position may prove more durable than many of the advantages investors relied on in prior technology cycles. • AI's largest impact may not come from AI itself, but from what it enables across healthcare, life sciences, energy, manufacturing, and every major industry. The most interesting question for investors may no longer be: "Which model will win?" Instead, it may be: "Where will durable value accrue when intelligence becomes abundant?" Thank you to Krystal for expertly moderating the discussion and to Ulrike and Dave for a lively exchange of perspectives across venture, public markets, and corporate venture investing. Thank you to John Werner for thoughtfully organizing the IIA conference that gets the innovators together. #AI #VentureCapital #QualcommVentures #ImaginationInAction

Excited to share Qualcomm Ventures' participation in Ultrahuman's $70M financing round. The future of AI won't be defined by a single device or model, but by a distributed AI network of intelligent devices working together around the user. In that future, health wearables can evolve from trackers into a persistent physiological intelligence layer, giving AI a deeper understanding of the person it serves. That's a big part of what excited us about partnering with Ultrahuman. As AI becomes increasingly personal and ambient, understanding human physiology may become one of the most valuable context layers in the computing stack. Congratulations to Mohit, Vatsal, Bhuvan and the entire Ultrahuman team on this milestone. Excited to partner with them, alongside our fellow investors, as they build the future of health intelligence.
