Your bestie recommends a product. You listen. A podcast host who keeps you company on every dog walk recommends it. Turns out you listen to that too. :-) We asked 500 U.S. podcast listeners what moves them from trust to action. Hosts landed right alongside friends and family at every stage, and social video clips came in last every time. A 15-second clip is easy to scroll past. A host you've spent hundreds of hours with feels a lot like a friend. For PR and comms folks, that's word of mouth at scale. The trick is finding the hosts your audience already trusts. #podcasting #PR #earnedmedia

I keep seeing so. many. stats about how podcasts are becoming even more trusted than influencers, journalists… even family and friends.  A few stats: 🎙️ 42% say they trust their favorite podcaster for brand and product recommendations more than journalists, YouTubers and celebrities. (via Acast Podcast Pulse 2026 report) 🎙️ 27% trust a podcast host’s testimonial more than a friend or family member. (via Trent Anderson at Podchaser) 🎙️ 55% say they build their strongest connection to a creator through a podcast, compared to 15% through social media. (via Audacy, Inc. Power of Influencers Study) And it makes total sense. Podcasts are an intimate medium that people love to listen to in quiet moments like driving, cooking, or working out. It's the middle of August and I'm here to talk to you about stocking stuffers. We pulled gift-shopping language out of podcast transcripts month by month across 2025. All summer it sat flat, right around 240 episodes a month. Nobody talked about gifts in July. Then: 🎃 October: 1,182 episodes 🦃 November: 4,595 🎄 December: 8,936 [~38x the summer baseline] The number that should change your calendar is October, not December, bc that's where the line breaks. By the time the conversation actually peaks, host-read inventory's spoken for, gift guides are already recorded, and somebody else is in the episode you wanted. So the real deadline is, like, now. Mid-August is when you shortlist shows, negotiate, and get creative approved so you're live the week the curve turns up. Nobody wants to think about the holidays in August. The chart don't care. Btw smart brands are using Podchaser to get ahead of this curve, ask me how! Source: Podchaser transcript search, 2025.

imho more podcast guesting campaigns fail due to show selection than the pitches themselves so on Friday, i'm gonna show you how to builder better target lists that convert using Podchaser Pro. you'll see how to move from a broad topic to a ranked shortlist of shows, and how to pressure-test each one before you spend time on outreach. we'll cover: - building a target show list with search filters, Power Score, and saved lists - reading audience and reach signals to separate real opportunities from vanity shows - using episode transcripts to confirm a show actually covers your topic and how they've covered it - checking credits and guest history to spot shows that book people like you (and the ones that never will) - turning all of it into a repeatable process you can run for every campaign will you be there? registration below 👇

  • Why podcast brand monitoring is different Three reasons podcast brand monitoring breaks when you try to run it inside a generalist platform. 1. The coverage floor is invisible. Most general media tools transcribe a few thousand podcasts. Your alerts come back empty not because nothing was said, but because the show that said it was never indexed. There is no warning and no coverage-gap message. The platform simply looks like it is working. 2. Audio is harder than text. Podcast mentions live inside multi-hour episodes. The audio has to be transcribed before any search can run against it. If the transcription is missing or poor, the mention is invisible. General-purpose platforms tend to transcribe top-of-chart shows well and everything else poorly or not at all. 3. The long tail carries the signal. On social, the top 1 percent of accounts drive most of the volume. On podcasts it is closer to the reverse. The long tail of niche, vertical, and regional shows often carries more signal per mention than the chart-toppers. Your CEO named on a 20,000-listener industry show usually matters more than a passing mention on a 2-million-listener talk show, because the audience is more decision-aligned. The takeaway is that podcast monitoring needs its own tool. Not as a replacement for your media stack, but as an addition to it. Podchaser solves for this. Read ➡ https://lnkd.in/eJWVQqPT

  • Podcast intelligence turns podcast conversations into strategic decisions. You run an analysis across the entire podcast ecosystem to answer where you should show up, what people are already saying, and who you would reach if you did. It sits a layer above the self-serve data in a tool like Podchaser Pro. Pro tells you about a show. Podcast intelligence tells you about the market those shows make up. The difference matters most when the question is bigger than a single pitch. “Which ten shows should my client be on this month” is a Pro question. “Where’s my category’s conversation happening, who owns it, and where’s the gap we could own” is a podcast intelligence question. It's the same underlying data seen through a wider lens. It's available now. Read ➡ https://lnkd.in/gAnFivBM

  • Halfway through 2026 and here's what we know about 🆕 podcasts ↓

153,767 podcasts launched in the first half of 2026. Thirteen of them reached a million listeners. Thirteen. We pulled Podchaser data on every single podcast that debuted between January 1 and June 30 this year, and built a yearbook for the cohort. Meet Podcasting's Class of 2026 👇 → It's the smallest class in 8 years. New-podcast launches have fallen below pre-pandemic levels — down ~14% YoY and ~80% off the 2020 boom. → 42% are already gone. Nearly half stopped publishing within months of debuting. Podfade is brutal. → 0.7% broke through. Just 1,119 of 153,767 reached a meaningful Power Score. 99.3% never will. The noise floor has never been deeper. → And a lot of the noise is now machine-made. We found a single AI operation cloning "[City] News Today | 2 Min News" across dozens of cities — Providence, Topeka, Bermuda, Nigeria. Raw podcast counts now overstate real human creativity. → 1 in 3 new shows isn't in English → The assumption that podcasting is a young person's medium? Not for this class. New-show audiences skew hard Millennial — 65% are 25–34, under 1% are Gen Z. Here's the takeaway for anyone in n 153,767 shows launch and 99.3% are noise, the entire game is finding the signal — and proving it with data. That's the whole reason Podchaser exists.
