Creator Music is now available to U.S. creators in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). Expansion to YPP creators outside of the U.S. is pending.
You can apply gratis licenses to your licensable assets so they become available on Creator Music. If you no longer want an asset to be licensed from Creator Music, you can deactivate the asset for gratis licensing.
Enable gratis licensing for an asset
- Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
- From the left menu, select Assets
.
- Click the asset you want to add a gratis license to.
- Click Edit
Gratis license.
- Select Turn on.
- Click the checkbox that confirms you have all necessary rights for the applicable underlying musical compositions for the selected tracks.
- Click UPDATE ASSETS.
Enable gratis licensing for many assets at once
The maximum number of assets you can update at once is 2500. To enable multiple assets for gratis licensing:
- Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
- From the left menu, select Assets
.
- Check the box next to each asset you’d like to update.
- To select all assets on a single page, check the box at the top.
- To select all assets on all pages, check the box at the top and click Select all matching.
- Click Edit
Gratis license.
- Select Turn on.
- Click UPDATE ASSETS and confirm the number of assets in the pop-up window.
Deactivate gratis licensing for an asset
If you no longer want an asset to be licensed from Creator Music, you can turn off gratis licensing. Keep in mind that any existing license acquisitions and usages associated with the asset won’t be affected.
Once gratis licensing for an asset is deactivated, the asset will be removed from Creator Music and creators won't be able to license the associated track anymore.
To deactivate gratis licensing for an asset:
- Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
- From the left menu, select Assets
.
- Click the asset whose gratis licensing you want to deactivate.
- Click Edit
Gratis license.
- Select Turn off.
- Click UPDATE ASSETS.
