What happens when you apply a Performance Max experiment
When you apply a Performance Max experiment, the outcome depends on the experiment type.
- Migration or replacement experiments: For experiments like Standard Shopping versus Performance Max, the Performance Max campaign becomes your primary campaign and captures 100% of the traffic. In these instances, your original control campaign pauses automatically.
- Optimization experiments: For experiments that test specific features, like Final URL expansion, the tested settings apply permanently to the campaign, and your campaign will continue to run with the new configuration.
- Custom experiments: For custom experiments, you’ll select the winning campaign manually. The unsuccessful campaigns will pause automatically.
