Important: Learn which Google Account types have access to Google Vids and different Vids features.
You can find each item (text, shape, line, image, GIF, sticker, or video) on a scene’s canvas in Vids on its own object track in the timeline. The canvas displays objects based on the current playhead position. You can customize when an item enters and leaves the scene.
View & customize timing using object tracks
To view and customize object tracks for your video:
- On your computer, open a video in Google Vids.
- To view all object tracks in a scene, at the top left of the timeline, click Show timing
.
- To move the playhead to a specific moment, click anywhere on an object track. The canvas shows only the objects that appear in the video at that exact point in time.
- Optional: To expand or collapse the timeline view, drag at the top of the timeline.
- To shorten or lengthen the timing of objects, hover your mouse over the left or right edge of the object track
when the blue handle appears, click and drag to adjust the duration.
- To change when an object appears in the scene, click and drag the object track left or right.
- Tip: This only works if the object track is shorter than the scene.
- To hide the object tracks, at the top left of the timeline, click Hide timing
