Before you begin
You can integrate your Google Analytics account with MonsterInsights (WordPress) for free. If you’d like to set up additional features, an annual MonsterInsights (WordPress) subscription (from $99 USD to $400 USD) will provide the following benefits:

- One-Click eCommerce tracking
- Conversion tracking
- Google optimize integration
The instructions for setting up the Google tag are different for different tag IDs, so you’ll need to follow the instructions that correspond with your tag.
If you have a tag starting with "AW-"
Tags that start with “AW-” are generally associated with Google Ads accounts.
To configure MonsterInsights with an AW- tag, MonsterInsights must first be configured with Google Analytics.
- To install MonsterInsights, log in to your WordPress dashboard, then select Plugins.
- Search for 'MonsterInsights' and select Install Now.
- Once the plugin is downloaded and installed, go to the list of installed plugins. Under “Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights”, select Activate.
- Select Launch the Wizard from the landing page.
- Complete the setup wizard.
- When the setup wizard is complete, under 'Insights', select Settings, then select Publisher.
- Navigate to the 'Ads Tracking' section and paste your Google tag ID (for example, AW-123456789).
- Select Save Changes at the top of the page.
If you have a tag starting with "G-"
Tags that start with “G-” are generally associated with Google Analytics accounts.
If MonsterInsights isn't currently installed, follow the instructions below.
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard, then select Plugins.
- Search for “MonsterInsights”. Select Install Now.
- Once the plugin is downloaded and installed, go to the list of installed plugins. Under “Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights”, select Activate.
- Select Launch the Wizard from the landing page.
- Complete the setup wizard.
