Knowledge should be open, discoverable and accessible to everyone.

I work as an academic librarian specialising in Research and Scholarly Communication My Wikimedia interests are strongly connected to my professional work as a librarian. I see Wikimedia projects as important platforms for improving access to reliable information, strengthening digital literacy and increasing the visibility of African knowledge.

Hope A Ncube' was born and raised in Esigodini, approximately 45 km from Bulawayo along the Gwanda Road in Matabeleland South, Zimbabwe. I am an information professional, academic librarian, researcher, educator and Wikimedian from Zimbabwe, Africa passionate about making knowledge more accessible, discoverable and reusable. As a Zimbabwean editor, I contribute to Wikimedia projects with the belief that local communities should play an active role in documenting, preserving and sharing their knowledge with the world.

I edit because knowledge matters. For me, Wikimedia is more than an online encyclopedia. It is a global movement through which people can contribute to a shared knowledge commons.

I am particularly interested in: Wikipedia and improving the quality and coverage of Zimbabwean content Wikidata and structured knowledge Wikimedia Commons and documenting Zimbabwe through photographs and other media Wikisource and preserving notable knowledge #1Lib1Ref and the role of librarians in improving references on Wikipedia Open knowledge and Open Access
