About me
[edit]Hi, I am Madhav.
I am a software developer with experience in TypeScript, Python, and web technologies, and I am interested in using those skills to support Wikimedia and open knowledge projects.
My interests on Wikimedia
[edit]- Improving technical documentation and help pages where they are unclear or incomplete.
- Experimenting with tools, bots, and scripts that can make editing and maintenance tasks easier (within Wikimedia policies).
- Learning more about cross-wiki workflows, global tools, and how different Wikimedia projects collaborate.[web:7][web:12]
Technical background
[edit]Outside Wikimedia, I work on:
- Web scraping and data extraction from HTML content, mainly using JavaScript/TypeScript tooling.[cite:2][cite:4]
- Automation and scripting, often using the Bun runtime with TypeScript for fast prototyping.[cite:3]
- Crypto trading bots and day trading–oriented tools, especially around exchanges like Binance.[cite:5]
- Hardware and robotics side projects, such as an ESP32-powered line-follower robot with a tunable PID controller via a web interface.[cite:6]
I am interested in exploring how similar tooling approaches can support wiki maintenance, analysis, and quality control, while respecting community norms and policies.[web:11]
How I use Meta-Wiki
[edit]On Meta-Wiki, I mainly intend to:
- Keep notes about tools, scripts, and workflows I am experimenting with.
- Collect links and documentation related to Wikimedia technical infrastructure and user groups.[web:12][web:15]
- Learn from existing discussions about permissions, user roles, and governance on the Wikimedia projects.[web:7][web:9]
I may also create subpages as sandboxes for testing templates, modules, and formatting.[web:16]
Contact
[edit]If you need to reach me:
- Please leave a message on my talk page.
- Alternatively, you can ping me on wiki in relevant discussions.
I am open to collaboration on small technical experiments, documentation improvements, or automation ideas that fit within Wikimedia’s guidelines and community expectations.[web:12]
