Reason(s): The user نوفاك اتشمان (alternative account of Novak Watchmen) recently requested rollback and patroller permissions on the Serbo-Croatian Wikipedia. However, our community is concerned about possible undisclosed sockpuppets and/or sleeper accounts. Looking at the global contributions of نوفاك اتشمان and Milicevic01, we can see that their editing pattern is similar, including here on Meta (1, 2). On the Serbian Wikipedia, both users have participated in the same discussions and votes (1, 2), using a similar tone in their comments. Due to implications of possible vote-stacking in sensitive areas such as requests for bureaucratship and adminship (1, 2), I would suggest doing a preemptive local CU investigation for shwiki. @XXBlackburnXx: Thank you for your question! The Serbo-Croatian Wikipedia currently doesn't have a local CheckUser policy, so formal on-wiki discussions about potential sockpuppetry are not a common practice. Typically, concerns and requests are brought directly to Meta. In this particular case, I initiated this request following a concern from a local bureaucrat, who contacted me off-wiki on this matter. On the other hand, we have had several cases of cross-wiki sockpuppetry in the past, especially from neighboring projects, and while I don't want to accuse a colleague, we need to check in any case. --Inokosni organ (talk) 13:31, 2 July 2025 (UTC)

Sorry, but since no policy violation occurred on shwiki (and all provided evidence points to srwiki, over a very extended time period) this looks more like a {{fishing}} expedition than something else. Novak has already publicly disclosed their accounts and there's seemingly no basis (at least not declared in the request) that would necessitate a block for any of them on shwiki, so I don't see what a check would accomplish. As far as I'm aware, @Milicevic01 and MilicevicBot: my fellow Serbian Wikipedia editor Milicevic01 and @نوفاك اتشمان, Novak Watchmen, and FifthMILlenniumBot: that other Serbian & South Slavic user are physically 2 (two) different and separate people. Also, I should already have publicly disclosed & listed all of my accounts on my local user page. In addition, both of you (including that third, certain person as well, I guess), either individually and/or collectively, have my absolute, explicit, official and personal approval to contact the local Serbian Wikipedia CheckUsers, concerning this SRCU & sh.wiki matter. @Jackyming: are you saying that you suspect 1F616EMO might be behind these accounts? So far it's been difficult to determine anything due to the extensive use of VPNs and different devices. I haven't found any sleepers yet, but I've come across many good-faith users, which makes this case more difficult than usual. XXBlackburnXx (talk) 09:37, 11 July 2025 (UTC)

I believe that this request is fishing, the request is just to check are these impersonation accounts controlled by active users or 1F616EMO himself, but apparently we don't have any evidence of it or who's behind these acounts, I have declined the request in local, as in the process of SRG will usually check sleepers as well, thank you. aqurs 🍧 09:43, 11 July 2025 (UTC)

I'd say that's unimportant. Without a particular suspect behind the accounts, it would be hard to distinguish operators from each other from the chaotic data. With an "extensive use of VPNs and different devices," the user behind might be able to forge technical parameters by combining VPNs and user-agent switchers, making investigation nearly impossible. (This has led me to think of zh:LTA:QCHM, but from the data of an anonymous account ~2025-16301-2 having identical behaviors, QCHM seems unrelated.) As MEATs are treated like one person (per enwiki Arbcom decision and local policy adoption), it's safe to close the case without knowing how many operators there are. 1F616EMO (on zhwiki) 16:03, 11 July 2025 (UTC)

Reason(s): 微甜微酸微苦＿＿微鹹 was indef'd on 2024-01-12. Their block appeal was not granted. The account 彳山一儿攵辛束 was created on 2024-01-18. The usernames strongly suggest that these two accounts are related: 彳山一儿攵辛束 is the characters "微辣" deconstructed, which would align perfectly with the underscores in the first username. In October 2024, 彳山一儿攵辛束 performed a series of controversial page moves that culminated in their indef partial block on 2024-10-23. While the discussions around 彳山一儿攵辛束's actions proceeded, the account 江马 was created on 2024-10-18. 江马 immediately began editing in areas 彳山一儿攵辛束 previously edited in, particularly articles related to w:Manner (company) (微辣). (Editor Interaction Analyser, Interaction Timeline)

無名君子 is currently indef'd on zhwiki for vandalism. They exhibit an unusual interest in en:Mary Jean Reimer and a certain Buddhist monk (洞鈜法師), whose articles on Cantonese Wikipedia were written or significantly expanded by 彳山一儿攵辛束. They also both cited the far-right The Epoch Times, a source I rarely see anyone else use on Cantonese Wikipedia. 后男草 referred to zhwiki as "中文分域" in yue:Special:Diff/2235699, a term otherwise exclusively used by 江马. They also share a similar tone. 地牛走陸 shows unusual familiarity with zhwiki affairs, editing project pages almost immediately after account creation, while also editing pages significantly overlapping with 江马's areas of focus. The recent appearance of this crop of fresh accounts coincides with 江马's wikibreak after getting involved in a few heated discussions, a modus operandi reminiscent of the gradual shifting of editing activities from 彳山一儿攵辛束 to 江马.

As 微甜微酸微苦＿＿微鹹 has not edited yuewiki since January 2024 but remains active on other wikis, I believe a loginwiki check might be warranted. h78c67c (talk) 17:03, 14 July 2025 (UTC)

Reason(s): In order to check 2 accounts ("Milana.jav" and "Žarko.neon") and then to connect them to a sockmaster. Their previous CU-results can be found here. 1 That's some serious cross-wiki casino-spam. The main issue is, there are several sockpuppet groups of those casino-spammers, so I want/need to know who's that exactly. Those 2 accounts should be the socks of "Romilica", whose last known/last confirmed sock is "Blagoje950". However, I'm not completely certain about that. By several groups of socks, I mean different sockmasters. Based on their IP-info, 1-2 sockpuppet groups are from Serbia, 1 from Montenegro and 1 from Bosnia (and Herzegovina). But they all write and spread the same cross-wiki casino-spam. Those 2 new socks edit the same articles & Wikidata pages as "Romilica". "Žarko.neon" can be LWCU-ed, but "Milana.jav" is stale on login.wiki. "Milana.jav" can be checked on a wiki without local CUs. There are recent edits of "Milana.jav" on bs.wiki, which is a frequent target-wiki that those casino-spammers visit. Their last edit there is 15:06, 31 May 2025, so bs.wiki should still have some CU-data left. 2 After checking those 2 new socks, globally lock them and, if needed, update that page with their info on checkuser.wiki. --نوفاك اتشمان (talk) 02:37, 15 July 2025 (UTC)

Reason(s): User Melaquis is posting new articles/translations every 5 to 10 minutes. Obviously machine translated because there are a lot of common machine translation mistakes in the articles, like an English word can mean two different things depending on context, and the wrong one is used in these articles. That means machine translation without proofreading and possibly without even any knowledge of the Norwegian language. The type of articles are the same as translations made by user Idolyblooms. The difference is that while Idolyblooms did this on several language projects, getting blocked at et-Wiki and fi-Wiki because of machine translations, Melaquis has (so far) made edits only at no-Wiki. Worth noting is that after I wrote a pretty harsh warning to Idylyblooms at the Norwegian user talk page, mentioning the blocks at et & fi, all editing from that account came to a halt. 11 days later, Melaquis shows up, pumping out new articles at an even quicker pace than Idolyblooms. If there’s a connection here, it should probably be investigated thoroughly, to check if other user accounts are involved in doing the same at other language versions. I.e. maybe «Idolyblooms» got scared of by my warning, realizing we can se global account contributions, and blocks, and made one account for each language this person publishes translations to.

It seems a bit unclear what the request is. The discussion is a link to zhwikisource, but the title is wikisource(mulws). Since stewards, except for a very few, cannot read Chinese, if the discussion on zhwikisource is to explain the situation and you want to perform a check on mulws, you should translate the content to some extent and let the stewards know. This is a request for an investigation on mulws, and the situation is described on zhwikisource, correct? If so, please translate the content appropriately so that we can understand. First, the article s:zh:百字明咒短釋 was nominated for deletion by User:Zhxy 519 because it was a translation by AI and could possibly contain copyrighted content. Then User:银色雪莉 argued that AI cannot be seen as an author with copyright ownership and that the original text in Commons file File:ཡི་གེ་བརྒྱ་པའི་གོ་དོན་ཉུང་ངུ་།_ཤིང་པར།.pdf seems to be out of copyright, and that it remains to be determined that whether this translation is worth of being kept if there isn't another published Chinese translation. The user asked for users more experienced in religious text for help. Then I took a closer look at the text, finding out that the text doesn't look like a high quality translation of the original text but rather just usual AI-generated content. I suggested that the text can be exported to Wikiversity but the Wikiversity administrator User:Ericliu1912 declined to import it. Finally I noticed that all these content, including the original Commons file File:ཡི་གེ་བརྒྱ་པའི་གོ་དོན་ཉུང་ངུ་།_ཤིང་པར།.pdf, are just recently uploaded by this group of users. This group of users publish the same topic in multiple Wikimedia projects, including Old Wikisource, Commons, Wikidata, bowiki, and enwikisource. None of these wikis have yet to verify the content published by this group of users independently, because very few people can actually read original text in Tibetan. Reason(s): The registration time was 14 days ago (May 30), but judging from the behavior, he does not look like a novice, and the account tends to be single-purpose. I think his editing track is very similar to w:zh:U:Nono9394, who was partially banned in early June. His username creation tendency, editing behavior, and failure to create a user page are also similar to the former (and even my previous guess of w:zh:LTA:SM). @Peterxy12: you'll need to go through the regular SPI process at zh:维基百科:傀儡調查 instead of filing checkuser requests directly with stewards. Only zhwiki SPI clerks can do that. If you keep bypassing the process, restrictions might follow. Thanks. XXBlackburnXx (talk) 13:09, 19 July 2025 (UTC)

I must note that Nongzhisheng is no longer active on zhwiki due to the block, but is very much active on enwiki.
