MCT Annual Membership
The MCT Program is an annual membership. To maintain your MCT qualification and benefits, you must renew your membership each year prior to your expiration date. If your MCT status has expired, you will be required to reinstate your MCT status to rejoin the program.
You can find your MCT expiration date on the transcript of your Microsoft Learn profile in the “Microsoft Certified Trainer history” section.
MCT Renewal Requirements
To renew your membership for the 2026 cycle (through May 31, 2027), you must provide proof of at least six (6) training deliveries within the renewal period, as recorded within Metrics that Matter (MTM). The deliveries are not limited to Microsoft courseware, and custom content as well as private deliveries can be recorded as custom courseware within MTM to meet this requirement.
Renewal requirements for those renewing after June 1, 2027 will be shared in Q1 of 2027.
MCT Reinstatement Requirements
If your MCT status expired or lapsed within the last three (3) years, you may reinstate your membership if you:
- Possess either an AB-730 or n AB-731 certification; and
- Pass the MCT Instructional Skills Assessment (fees apply). OR if you do not pass the Instructional Skills Assessment, you must pass the 3-day MCT Onboarding Experience Course (fees apply); and
- Review and agree to the MCT Program Agreement; and
- Pay the MCT program fee.
If your MCT status has been lapsed for more than three (3) years, you may reinstate your membership if you:
- Possess either an AB-730 or n AB-731 certification; and
- Pass the 3-day MCT Onboarding Experience Course (fees apply); and
- Review and agree to the MCT Program Agreement; and
- Pay the MCT program fee.
If you have any questions, please contact the MCT Program to reinstate your MCT status by emailing the program at mctprog@microsoft.com.
Note
Your certification must still be valid (not expired) to qualify for the MCT program. An expired certification will show in your MS Learn transcript as N/A with no future date.
