Well yes it replaces the camera in any app, thereby giving you an option to
replace the default camera in the cloned app with a picture or any video
from your phone storage

Does it actually can replace the camera in the default Android camera or
any app as-is, or does it requires any special tweak in the system?

So this is what the app looks like, it has a virtual space for cloning the
app you wanna go live with, then replaces your camera with a picture or a
video or a video stream (You will have to input the video stream link) in
the app you cloned

So do you think you can recreate something like that?

Looks pretty much limited and complex, based on a quick analysis of the AI

Thanks for the feedback.

Points to consider:
- The workflow is totally different from the desktop. In the desktop,
you create a virtual device, then open the other program independly. Here,
you select an application, then launch it sandboxed from inside Webcamoid.
The apps can still seen as an independent apps?
- If the AI is right and not hallucinating, you need the APK of the
app to sandbox, but the default system camera has not an APK, Whatsapp does
not have an APK, any app downloaded from the Play Store does not have an
APK. Then how how I supposed to sandbox a system app
- Those two example apps apparently were available in the Play Store
but not anymore, and considering that you are running a third-party app
from your own, this can be considered as a high security risk, newer
Android versions could have tightened the security measures to prevent this
feature. This is just my guess, but could this the reason because those
apps are not being developed anymore and removed from the Play Store?
- There does not seems to be any other apps for Android providing the
"virtual camera" feature anywhere else, which makes me think that these are
just experiments which a very short life time until Google tighten security
even more.
I can try making some sandboxing experiments outside Webcamoid tree, but I
don't promise nothing, I and I don't have much faith on this.
For me, it looks more promising to put the focus in streaming rather than
the virtual camera.
