Super Mario Bros.
To be fair, I think this would easily be a 5-star review if Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World didn’t exist. SMB1 is perfect for what it is. But those two sequels being such leaps forward, such even MORE perfect masterpieces makes me ding this one the slightest bit just to emphasize that it’s not quite on the level of its sequels. Anyway, this is an all-timer platformer. An utter delight.
