Wikipedia:Destubathon of the Americas

[edit]

Project members are invited to participate in the Destubathon of the Americas, a contest/editathon which will run from May 1 to May 31. The goal is to destub as many of our 475,000+ stubs for the Americas (from Alaska down to Chile) as possible. A good chance to have fun in expanding many of our old stale stubs and win up to $2680 in Amazon vouchers for expanding stub articles. Sign up in the Contestants/participants section on the contest page if interested. Even if not interested in prizes you are still warmly welcome to participate in it as an editathon! Hopefully we can achieve something significant in the month of May together! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:07, 14 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia Article Draft for Creation

[edit]

Hello! I recently published a new article on the Lyons Falls Paper Mill in Lewis County. I’ve added a History section, a Current Status section, and basic sourcing. I’d appreciate any review of my article. Thank you! WikiWanderer12345678910 (talk) 21:14, 20 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

Hi everyone. I was going to join the Syracuse WikiProject, but it looks like it's defunct/inactive now, so I figured I'd add my name to the list here instead. Looking forward to helping out! SilentHalo (talk) 19:04, 29 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Help with a request about New York Power Authority?

[edit]

I'm a NYPA employee. I am hoping editors can update figures in the article introduction, per my request here.

The second sentence of this article states that the NYPA operates "16 generating facilities and more than 1,400 circuit-miles of transmission lines." I'm not sure when these numbers were added to the article, but they are no longer accurate. The NYPA now operates 17 generating facilities and more than 1,550 circuit-miles of transmission lines, as confirmed here, here, and here.

Can someone here help? TN NYPA (talk) 13:09, 8 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Through the Mayors' Eyes

[edit]

If there's anyone still here plucking away at WNY topics, be on the look out for the book Through the Mayors' Eyes by Michael Rizzo. It is published by a blacklisted vanity publisher called Lulu (more at WP:LULU) and it is a pestilence on Buffalo government pages. I myself have positively identified several factual errors in its pages and which I am working to unravel, especially since the blacklist only seems to mark its "dot com" metric. A major problem is that it is often the only source listed on pages for the city's former mayors, especially those who predate the Internet Age. Any help in my endeavor to un-kudzu this source from the WNY material is supremely appreciated. ThaesOfereode (talk) 19:12, 8 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
