Shortcuts
Please review the AWB guide before making a request. Users are rarely approved unless they have either 250 non-automated mainspace edits or 500 total mainspace edits. You can check your non-automated contributions on XTools. Administrators are automatically approved and do not need to request access. For bots, you must first have a bot approval request approved, or in trial; link to your BRFA in the request.
This page is for requesting AWB Access for English Wikipedia only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.
If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage. If you will make many or fast automated edits using AWB, you may wish to use a separate (or bot) account for that purpose; first create the account, give it a userpage declaring it to be your alternate account, then make the request using your main account.
Please note that administrators may not ping you in replies, so please check on your request if you have not heard anything.
Especially for new users, it is helpful (although not strictly required) to explain what specific task you intend to use AWB to do in your request.
You do not usually need AWB access to:

Hi. I would like AWB rights to be able to use JWB to supplement my template-editing. I am also interested in trying to use it to fix article content, with MOS:CURLY coming to mind as something which appears a lot with a fairly easy fix. Axolitl (talk | contribs) 05:26, 7 October 2026 (UTC)reply

Hi, I am often editing for suggested tone revisions, and usually do a thorough copy-edit every now and then sometimes for sections or blocks of texts and sometime for the whole article. I would like to see if I could contribute more effectively with AWB in fixing minor language issues/typos/syntax errors instead of doing them manually. I understand that it will be my responsibility to ensure that the edits are done with care and follow Wikipedia policies and guidelines. autowikibrowser rights Ar1201u1 (talk) 19:43, 8 October 2026 (UTC)reply
