Hello, I don't think there should be flags next to the authors names. They take up too much space and conventionally from seeing a number of navigational boxes flags are not used next to people's names. Throughthemind (talk) 18:57, 21 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
The reason I put a flag is to enable a clear visualization of nationalities: it can be of interest for a person searching only for German or Indian writers for example. Nattes à chat (talk) 08:28, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
The flags are also quite wrong for many of the authors. An author born in 1772 should not have the modern US flag. An author from the 1800s can't use an Austrian flag onlyu adopted in 1945. We have people with claimed nationality and flags for countries that never existed in their lifetime. Plus they're completely against MOS:FLAG, as flags cannot be used as navigation on their own and cannot be used without being accompanied by their name as no one can be expected to know all the world's flags or identify the differences between many in a time 23px image.
