Parham Hashemi is proud to be your Workers Party candidate for Manchester Central. As an NHS PHARMACIST and STUDENT DOCTOR, Parham has seen firsthand the challenges our health service faces. He is deeply committed to improving the NHS, addressing the housing crisis, and advocating for the people of Gaza who are enduring unimaginable suffering.
In Manchester Central, the NHS faces significant and URGENT challenges. Hospitals across Greater Manchester are so cash-strapped each month that they are having to receive advance payments from the region’s NHS to keep services running. The region’s NHS is already under close scrutiny by national NHS bosses over its near-£180m DEFICIT, which it is under strict instructions not to allow to get worse. Several trusts are potentially RUNNING OUT OF CASH, and this financial strain is affecting the quality of care provided to our community. This situation is unacceptable and requires IMMEDIATE action.
Parham is committed to FULLY RENATIONALISING the NHS, ensuring it is funded adequately and managed efficiently. Our health service should be a beacon of hope and care, FREE from the grasp of private profiteers. He will fight to restore DECENT PAY LEVELS for our healthcare workers, ensure that patient care is NEVER COMPROMISED by budget cuts or private interests, and guarantee that NHS DENTISTRY is accessible and affordable for all. Together, we can make the NHS the PRIDE OF OUR NATION once more.
The HOUSING CRISIS in Manchester Central is a dire issue that needs immediate attention. Every person deserves a SAFE and AFFORDABLE place to call home. Parham will work tirelessly to initiate a COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAMME OF SOCIAL HOUSING, overriding unnecessary planning constraints and ensuring the right to buy or transfer sub-standard buy-to-let properties to local authorities. We must end the scandal of young people being PRICED OUT OF THEIR OWN CITY and ensure that everyone has access to DECENT, AFFORDABLE HOUSING.
The conflict in GAZA is a HUMANITARIAN CRISIS that demands our attention and action. As your representative, Parham will not shy away from SPEAKING THE TRUTH. The people of Gaza are suffering due to a BRUTAL ONSLAUGHT enabled by complicit governments, including our own. Parham stands unequivocally with the people of PALESTINE, advocating for a SINGLE STATE where all those born in PALESTINE-ISRAEL can live in PEACE with EQUAL RIGHTS. We must end the ILLEGAL OCCUPATION and support the RIGHT OF RETURN for all displaced Palestinians. Our foreign policy should reflect our values of JUSTICE and HUMAN RIGHTS.
Parham was an EX-LABOUR MEMBER who felt that Labour STOPPED REPRESENTING THE EVERYDAY PEOPLE. LABOUR NEEDS TO LEARN that it cannot TAKE VOTES FOR GRANTED. For instance, the current Labour MP for Manchester Central, Lucy Powell, abstained from voting for a ceasefire in Gaza, highlighting Labour’s failure to stand up for justice and peace.
Manchester Central deserves a representative who will FIGHT FOR THE NHS, tackle the HOUSING CRISIS, and stand up for JUSTICE IN GAZA. Parham Hashemi is that representative.
