Whole recruitment process was done on a single day in offline mode.

Round 1: Aptitude Assessment

In the aptitude assessment, there were 50 questions covering Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and CS Fundamentals (DSA). We had to solve all the questions within 30 minutes in a pen-and-paper format.

The marking scheme was +1 mark for every correct answer and -0.5 mark for every wrong answer. The cutoff was around 30 marks.

Around 100 students appeared for the assessment. Within approximately 45 minutes, the results were announced, and only 39 candidates were shortlisted for the next round, which consisted of a Technical + HR Interview.

Round 2: Technical Interview

There were 4 interview panels, consisting of 2 Product Managers, the CTO, and the Director. After waiting for around 3.5 hours, my turn finally came.

The interviewer first asked me about my family background and where I currently stay in Kolkata. After that, he went through the resume I had uploaded on their careers page while filling out the application form.

He started by asking about the duration of each of my projects and the challenges I faced while building them. He then went into a deep discussion about my first project, an E-commerce application.

The questions included:

* Why did you choose MongoDB for the project?

* What data types did you use in your MongoDB schemas?

* Where did you use indexing in your database?

* How can you make database searching faster?

* What is database sharding?

* What is MongoDB aggregation, and where did you use it?

* How did you integrate Razorpay into the application?

* What is Docker, and how did you use it?

* Explain CI/CD.

* What are Node.js streams?

* How do import and export work in Node.js?

* What is an API?

* How many APIs did you create in your project? Name them.

The interview lasted around 40–45 minutes and was mainly focused on my projects, technical decisions, implementation approach, and the challenges I faced while building them.

Overall, it was a project-focused technical interview, where the interviewer went beyond asking definitions and tried to understand whether I actually understood the technologies and approaches I had used in my projects.

Round 3: HR Interview

Just 10 minutes after the technical interview, the HR interview started. I began by introducing myself and talking about my family background.

The HR Manager also asked questions about my projects, such as the duration of the project, how I integrated Razorpay, and other details related to my project experience.

Towards the end, the HR Manager asked me a simple question: “How was your day today?”

The HR interview lasted around 7–8 minutes and was relatively short and conversational.

After 5 days, the result was announced via email. I was happy to receive the confirmation that I had been selected for the GET (Graduate Engineer Trainee) role.
