Manage and mute alarms during sleep

Use Smart Wake alarm

Important: To use this feature, make sure you have your Watch Alarm app and Notification permissions turned on.

Powered by advanced sleep-tracking algorithms, the Pixel Watch’s Smart Wake feature monitors your heart rate and body movements to identify your lightest stage of sleep within a 30-minute window before your set alarm. Your wrist responds with gentle, escalating sound and vibrations, helping you wake up feeling naturally refreshed, energized, and ready to tackle the day.

Turn on SmartWake alarm

  1. On your Google Pixel Watch, press the side button next to the crown.
  2. Swipe up and tap All apps.
  3. Tap Alarm.
  4. Tap Add new alarm .
  5. Set a time, then tap Confirm .

Once your alarm is created, it's visible on the alarm screen. Tap on the alarm and scroll down to turn Smart Wake on.

Tips:

  • If you have overlapping alarms, your Pixel Watch 5 prioritizes the earliest scheduled alarm window.
  • If you snooze a Smart Wake alarm, it becomes a standard alarm.
  • If you're already awake before the alarm rings, it becomes a standard alarm.
Bedtime mode & automatic bedtime mode

Important: This feature is only available on Pixel Watch 5.

Bedtime mode mutes notifications, turns off "tilt-to-wake" and touch inputs, and darkens the screen while you sleep. You can turn it on manually or sync it with your phone.
