Select a pre-designed watch face or create your own to personalize your Google Pixel Watch. In addition to the color and layout, you can choose widgets called complications to add to your watch face gallery. Add complications if you want to display information beyond the time, like weather or step count, on the watch face.
Customize your watch face and background
Important: This feature requires an internet connection, a personal Google Account with Gemini enabled.
With the assistance of AI, you can customize your watch face. To do this, you can enter a text description or use your voice, choose a visual style, then apply the design as the watch face.
On the watch, you can start from the predefined themes or create your own watch face giving a prompt using the watch’s microphone or keyboard.
On your watch:
- Long press the watch face.
- Swipe from right to left until you get to Add new
.
- Tap
.
- In the watch faces gallery, tap Create.
You may be prompted to review and accept terms for "Create My Widget." After you complete those steps, you will be given multiple options of watch faces. Choose one to apply the theme to your watch face.
On your phone:
- Open the Watch app.
- Tap Watch faces
.
- Tap Create.
- Follow the steps to create your custom watch face, and tap Add to watch.
On your watch
- Touch and hold the watch face
- Swipe left or right to browse available watch faces.
- Tap the watch face you want from the list, or Edit
to change its colors and complications first.
In the Pixel Watch app
- Tap Watch faces

- Swipe left or right to browse available watch faces.
- Tap Use on watch on the desired watch face or Edit to change its colors and complications first.
Make sure you have the latest version of the Google Pixel Watch app installed on your smartphone, along with the latest version of the Google Photos app on both your phone and smartwatch.
If you select the Photos watch face, you can add 30 photos from your personal photo album to use as your watch face.
Add photos to your watch face
Set a photo watch face from your phone:
- Open the Google Pixel Watch app on your phone

- Tap Watch faces
Add new
.
- Tap Photos
Choose a watch face in the Photos app.
Tip: If you can't find it, update all your watch apps and try again. Learn how to update apps on your watch. - Select up to 30 photos.
- At the top, tap Add, then Save.
Set a photo watch face from your watch:
- Touch and hold the watch face.
- Swipe left

- On your watch, open the Google Photos app when prompted, tap Google Photos.
Tip: If you can't find it, update all your watch apps and try again. Learn how to update apps on your watch. - On your phone, select the photos you want to add, then tap Add.
- Touch and hold the watch face.
- To personalize the color and layout, tap Edit

- Swipe left to scroll through the styles and complication layouts.
- On your Google Pixel Watch, swipe to any tile, then press and hold the tile.
- Tap Add

- Swipe up to go through the tiles and tap the one you would like to add.
- On your Google Pixel Watch, swipe to any tile, then touch and hold the tile.
- Swipe left or right to navigate to the tile you want to delete.
- Swipe up to delete the tile.
Change audio, screen, and brightness settings
To change most settings on Google Pixel Watch:
- Tap the watch face if your screen is dim.
- Swipe down from the top of the screen.
- Tap Settings

- From here, you can:
- Lock your watch screen
- Tap Sound to turn the volume up or down
- Tap Vibration to turn vibrations on or off
- Tap Display to adjust brightness, font size, and more

Through this feature, you’ll receive quick updates so you don't have to open any apps. It will show you your active timers and workout trackers. It also displays live progress from phone apps, such as food delivery or ride updates, along with travel details saved in your Google Wallet.
