Definitely not GFDL. Will be good idea to check that author is not known. Anybody has books about German WWII aircrafts? EugeneZelenko (talk) 15:42, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

:vk No copyvio, :de:User:ADL, a well known german expert of aircraft history (lot of publications, there he is also able to illustrate his work mostly with his own pictures), holds the copyright and kindly put it under GFDL like he did with other pictures (most of them were uploaded by User:Stahlkocher with a bad description page, he also deleted most of them in a rampage, without clear reason, but nobody ever restored them..). Why you deleted :File:Ar 95-3.JPG and :File:Ar 95-1.JPG without any discussion? I would like to discuss them in this deletion request, it is the same situation.--D.W. (talk) 18:24, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
:: I think OTRS is necessary in this situations to proof copyrights ownership/transfer in such cases. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 15:54, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
:::User:ADL was a active user since 2005, User:Stahlkocher is deWP admin and was Commonsadmin, Stahlkocher just helped ADL with uploading, ADL confirmed that the uploads are approved in some edits on deWP...compared to the normal situation of a upload of own works (or pictures from heritage) by the copyright holder itself, were you would always trust "old users" without OTRS it would be bureaucratic not to trust them here.--D.W. (talk) 18:43, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

::::I don't think the situation really is that clear. I only vaguely remember the discussions betwwen ADL, Stahlkocher and other users like Polarlys back then. But I found a few of those discussions, like User talk:Polarlys/Archiv3#Image:Ar 95.OLUO.JPG (German). And it seems the copyright situation of the images ADL provided is rather unclear and ADL didn't agree with our views of copyright law. Seems he owns the negatives of many old photos and therefore considered it to be legitimate to declare them free. But as far as I can see, we never got a confirmation, that he also had the full rights to those photos. --Kam Solusar (talk) 20:40, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
:::::I never understand why everbody complicated the case of ADL...maybe because the pictures just show dispensable "bad military stuff" from worst time of our history..you don´t need to much AGF to believe ADL, as a well-known Autor (outside of WP universe, you could also call him a "institution" in german military history..I saw him recently on TV..) that he has the sufficient rights and that he understand the GFDL. What should ADL do, if nobody gives him the AGF? Of course he never gave us a "clear" OTRS, the damage was done before he could be asked to do so..and even then "hardliners" wouldn´t trust this OTRS I think... Arr, it tragic what happened with ADL etc, like Stahlkocher wrote here..I would like to know how the people think about this a year after..--D.W. (talk) 22:20, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

*vd ADL claims on the German wikipedia that under his account work four (!) persons. So how can one claim a copyright on four persons? Highly dubious. --High Contrast (talk) 12:38, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
:::I think this is no argument to support the general disbelief against ADL (like I could´nt understand the disbelief overall). The exact name of the copyright owner is not a secret (esp. for you, who should know a lot of older discussions here and at deWP..), he was also the single user of this account AFAIK and via Email you just get contact with him..--D.W. (talk) 18:16, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Kept The status of this photo is still unclear and there has been no input by :de:User:ADL. Perhaps he is not aware about the problem. I submit it for review to Commons:PD files and if it fails I shall file a new DR. Sv1xv (talk) 05:12, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
