Silsilah Hata dohot Lapatan
Hata Teknologi dibuat sian hata Yunani Kuno, ima “technologia” (τεχνολογία), na marbingkas sian dua hata: “techne” (τέχνη) na marlapatan ugasan, hapistaran, manang sahid, dohot “logos” (λόγos) na marlapatan hata, ilmu, manang parsiajaran. Secara umum, teknologi ima saluhut dalan, ugasan, hapistaran, dohot metode na dipangke manisia lao paturehon, padehathon, dohot papanghithon ngolu siganup ari.

Di satu sisi, teknologi mambahen komunikasi dohot perdagangan (e-commerce) gabe murah dohot luhat, mambuka akses informasi, serta meningkatkan efisiensi industri. Namun di sisi asing, adong tantangan balga tudos tu kecanduan digital, ketergantungan tu media sosial, ancaman pengangguran struktural ala posisi ni manisia diganti oleh otomatisasi AI, kejahatan siber (cybercrime), dohot polusi sampah elektronik (e-waste). Menariknya, kebudayaan Batak Toba di humaliang ni Tao Toba nunga mampuna teknologi tradisional sian tingki na robi na sesuai dohot lingkungan alam serta filsafat Dalihan Na Tolu. Contohna ima arsitektur Ruma Bolon na dirancang tanpa paku besi melainkan mamangke sistem pasak hau dohot tali ijuk, mambahen struktur rumai fleksibel dohot tahan terhadap gempa bumi. Selain i, adong teknologi tekstil tradisional di bagasan mambalbal dohot mantenun Ulos mamangke alat tenun anian dohot pewarna alami sian tumbuhan taum dohot kayu sepang, serta teknologi pertanian hauma marhite irigasi tradisional (marias) dohot tenggala na ditarik orbo. Di era digital saonari, halak Batak Toba pe memanfaatkon teknologi informasi lao mambahen aplikasi kamus, preservasi Aksara Batak secara digital, dohot mempererat persatuan punguan marga di perantauan dohot di bona pasogit, na mambuktiroha bahwe teknologi ima perpanjangan tangan dohot pingkiran ni manisia na tergantung tu cara dohot niat ni manisia na mangpangkese.<!-- Dipabuni laho diterjemahon...
Technological advancements have led to significant changes in society. The earliest known technology is the stone tool, used during prehistory, followed by the control of fire—which in turn contributed to the growth of the human brain and the development of language during the Ice Age, according to the cooking hypothesis. The invention of the wheel in the Bronze Age allowed greater travel and the creation of more complex machines. More recent technological inventions, including the printing press, telephone, and the Internet, have lowered barriers to communication and ushered in the knowledge economy.
