Changelog:

I've figured out a method of extracting msecli from the Storage Executive installer. Check it.

@simonzack Thanks! I've seen your solution.

However, it appears to work, likely because it actually mounts all paths as read-write (since each directory under / is a separate mount point, --remount-ro / has no real effect), which defeats the purpose of using bwrap.

The error message you provided only indicates that the installer exited with an error before extracting msecli. Could you share the error message from the installer during the build() process? That would help to better pinpoint the specific non-writable location that caused the installer to exit prematurely.

This seems to work, unless you can come up with something better:

build() {
  if [[ "$CARCH" == "x86_64" ]]; then
    chmod +x "$srcdir/$pkgname-$pkgver-x86_64.run"
    args=()
    for d in /*; do
      if [ "$d" != "/etc" ]; then
        args+=("--bind" "$d" "$d")
      fi
    done
    for d in /etc/*; do
      args+=("--bind" "$d" "$d")
    done
    bwrap \
      "${args[@]}" \
      --bind "$srcdir/fake-lsb-release" /etc/lsb-release \
      --remount-ro / \
      --dev-bind /tmp /tmp \
      --dev-bind "$srcdir" "$srcdir" \
      --unshare-all \
      -- fakeroot "$srcdir/$pkgname-$pkgver-x86_64.run" --disable-components GUI --mode unattended --installer-language en --prefix "$srcdir/msecli-tmp-x86_64" || echo "Ignoring error during extraction. They are expected!"
  fi
}

I get the error:

install: cannot stat '.../.cache/paru/clone/micron-storage-executive-cli/src/msecli-tmp-x86_64/msecli': No such file or directory

Announcement:

It looks like Micron has replaced the download link for the x86_64 msecli with the x86_64 Storage Executive GUI. This is causing the package to fail to download and install due to checksum mismatch.

I'm not sure yet if this was a configuration mistake or a change in their product, because the download link for aarch64 still correctly points to msecli.

I'm looking into whether I can find the original download link for the x86_64 msecli or extract the program from the Storage Executive installer.
