Just a few notes:

  • This is not a flatpak, it uses the native version provided here

  • The Node Editor can be launched with "--editor" or "--onlyeditor" options. I have also added .desktop files for Application Launchers

  • useful folders:

.................... ~/.local/share/Hytale/ << Hytale Storage Location
  • This is self-updating, it will initially install it into your /opt folder then when you run the launcher a script checks if a folder has been generated and then moves the binary to that folder if it has not been gen'd. afterwords it is up to the launcher to keep itself up to date.

  • Uninstalling this removes almost everything except for the Hytale folder, This folder contain's game related data, such as the EULA, account data, launcher logs, licenses, and potentially game data, so delete at you're own risk

  • If you are having issue's try deleting this folder:

.................... ~/.local/share/Hytale/install/

it should not contain any game data (but maybe check just in case) after deleting update/run the 'hytale-launcher' it may fix the issue.

I have added support for the Node Editor. There are 2 ways to access it.

1 - hytale-launcher --editor or hytale-launcher --onlyeditor

2 - I have added .desktop files for Application Launchers.

Please replace "https://launcher.hytale.com/builds/release/linux/amd64/hytale-launcher-${_version}.zip" with "https://launcher.hytale.com/builds/release/linux/amd64/hytale-launcher-latest.zip", as the version with "${_version}" is not working.

@Knotrocket: Unfortunately yes. but I don't think it will cause any noticeable issue's. It is just caused by the launcher noticing that something is unexpected with the operating system. msg="potentially broken flatpak installation detected" this could be anything from the OS name, Packages (and versions), file structure, etc...

When opening the launcher even after deleting ~/.cache/hytale-launcher/ and ~/.local/share/hytale-launcher/ I get this message on every launch in the GUI:

Your Flatpak installation of the Hytale Launcher is from an early release and may not be able to persist launcher updates or your session correctly. We recommend downloading and installing the latest Flatpak from hytale.com/download

[Hytale Downloads] [Continue Anyway]

Is this expected? I am on 2026.05.07-1.

Upgrading from 2026.04.20-1 to 2026.04.20-2 does not seem to work for me, though it doesn't present an error except for this message:

Hytale Launcher has been updated in '/opt/hytale-launcher-bin'
   Your local copy in '/home/root/.local/share/hytale-launcher/bin/'
will not be touched if the 'bin' directory exists.

Running paru -Syu repeatedly just repeats the same attempted operation. Is any manual intervention required here?

pkgrel in .SRCINFO and PKGBUILD is different causing paru to always think this needs updated. please update the .SRCINFO
