Odds & Sods is an album of studio outtakes gathered by John Entwistle in 1974. It was released by Track Records in the UK, and by Track/MCA in the US in October 1974. Ten of the recordings on the original eleven song album were previously unreleased. The album reached No. 10 on the UK charts and No. 15 in the US.
The 1998 CD release comes with 12 additional previously unreleased tracks.
The 2020 vinyl release offers the original track list on disc 1, and another selection of bonus tracks, including alternate versions of "I Don't Even Know Myself" and "The Seeker", on disc 2.

- This is one of the best old pressings of anything I have. Admittedly, that is far too few within my modest vinyl collection. As said in earlier reviews, the sound quality is phenomenal. Loud, proud and clear. If you can find a clean copy, get it. Mine was a gift from a downsizing collector friend.
Man, I loved some of those old albums back in the day that came with so much to look at. Die-cut, poster, lyric sheets and notations. So cool! - Just compared LP1 of this edition against this one (https://www.discogs.com/release/4288930-The-Who-Odds-Sods). Needless to say, the US (TML/M) leaves this one for dead, not that its hopeless.
Edited 8 months agoThis is THE version to get! Has all the original goodies AND the added extended songs previously available or unreleased. Plus, it has the liner notes that were to originally be on the vinyl release, but were deleted at the last minute.- Edited 9 months agoTo add to previous comments, it is worth noting that the rear cover has no braille information on the promo version. Promo copies include the black folder mentioned along with the inserts and poster, together with promo stamped black Track LP labels, OBI, and 7-page printed Track Records promo libretto/promo insert. The actual sound reproduction for this Japan LP is just about all one could hope for...great stereo separation, warm sound, great dynamic range, quiet vinyl.
- Never seen this release with laser cut front cover and with a color poster. Nor any of the French editions.
The above information above is misleading. - Been through 3 copies, all have non-fill in the middle of side 1. I would avoid this one.
- I love this record. Side 2 is great! The sound on this is very good. Buy this edition if you come across it.
- I’ve always thought the original US release of this album was one of the best sounding Who albums, until hearing this original UK release which sounds better to my ears.
This sounds excellent! Looks great too. Not sure what the other complaints are about in other reviews, but I'm really happy with my copy.
If you want the extras, then go for it. If not, find a 1974 OEM or one of the 1988 Savers copies.
This reproduction with it's extras is nice to have, but some of it sounds like it was run-through to make a deadline.
